We have a Glassroots Football day v Reading on Saturday where the club invite some boys & girls teams from the 150 signed up to the scheme to come & watch Posh , nice touch from the club as they do this normally 3/4 times a season & also good way of attracting new support an area in which the club have done pretty well last 5/6 seasons going from around 4.5k to 7k regular home support , good stuff with the Rabbit mascot & Bobby Copping ex player who retired at 19 years old doing some great local community work at the schools .
Today is the first time we have ever won 7 League games on the bounce,we made it hard for ourselves with Luke Leahy missing a penalty (Again) and conceding in the 88th minute to make it 2-3 but we held on with goals from Richard Kone,Fred onyedinma and Joe Lowe.
definitely influenced by the crowd. We keep limping along. IMO we have the 2nd best team in this league but our game management has been poor. A lot of fans not keen on Duff.
Really poor from us yesterday, all style and no substance. Think at half time we had 84% possession without a single shot on target. Never felt like we’d get back in it, the penalty was very soft and made the scoreline closer than it actually was. First bit of a test for CD now, winless in 3, trying to force players into the starting XI where there is no place for them.
Any chance you guys can totally shit the bed next Saturday? Wycombe’s record is outstanding, and Matt Bloomfield speaks very well too.
To be honest mate there will be a lot of changes for that game,i wouldn't even worry if you beat us as the league is more important,11-30 am kick of is f *cking ridiculous but at least it's on ITV 4 so i can watch it in Somerset while drinking some farmhouse cider.
We have another tough game tonight at home to Mansfield after 3 consecutive away matches which we won,i can see our bubble being burst as they are a good side.
The gaffer has made two changes from the team that started Saturday lunchtime's loss away to the mighty (who knew?) Shrewsbury Town. Centre-back Ben Davies and forward Alfie May come in for the match at St James Park, with Ethan Laird and Luke Harris, who spent the second-half of last season on loan at the Grecians, among the substitutes. Starting XI:Ryan Allsop, Ben Davies, Krystian Bielik (Captain), Christoph Klarer, Alex Cochrane, Paik Seung-ho, Tomoki Iwata, Keshi Anderson, Willum Willumsson, Alfie May, Jay Stansfield. Davies has come in fora fair bit of criticism of late after a great start to the season, but in reality he has to start Alfie and Jay and work out how best they'll work in a more attacking system. We can't keep playing tippy tappy for 90 minutes and not have a crack at goal, that ain't woirking in this league..
Better, but not by much. Wycombe's steamroller left it late tonight, scoring a flukey goal in the 139th minute. The ref obviously had an away win in his accy.. I'm not bitter..
A 93rd minute fluke from Luke Leahy who after the game admitted it was a cross,in our last 14 League games we've won 12 and drawn 2 it's a remarkable run i'm just going to enjoy it while i can.
After a shit start we came back to draw 2-2 at Exeter a result i would have been happy with before the game, our run of 9 League wins came to an end but it couldn't go on forever i suppose but i was enjoying it.
My 4th live game of season out of my 10 game flexi tonight , should have been last night but put back 24 hours because of Burton v Tamworth Cup game on Sunday . Am expecting a very small crowd , heavy 2nd half rain , lots of goals from both teams & hopefully 3 points for Posh who are only 3 points above the relegation zone . Fergie is back on the touchline after weekend ban but our best defender Fernandez ( very low bar ) is suspended after 5 yellows , hope Fergie drops Wallin who's f*cking garbage , never seen a player pass the ball to the opposition as many times in a game as he does & every game & bring in Nevett & Katongo centre defence & a fan raffle to play at right back would be good although , we haven't kept a clean sheet in the League this season & i don't expect to tonight with our style of risk & reward football , very entertaining , very frustrating also .
I've seen some shite but jeez , to quote Aerosmith " I think we need an Attitude Adjustment " as Posh like the ol' days just thought they needed to turn up v a bottom 4 team & win , hmm wrong & lucky it was only 0-1 as Burton who weren't great had a game plan , pressed well , played balls through the middle & behind the sides of our defence & deservedly won , i think their GK made his 1st save from Mothersille on 80 mins much to the mocking sarcasm from the home support . Not seen a replay of it but looked like their GK may have handled the ball in the same incident which saw Poku go off with what looked like a hamstring injury but Kyprianou came on late in 2nd half a bit of a bonus , I hope timid Archie Collins hands the Captains armband back to him as he's far more of a leader something we massively lack . Not many positives tonight other than half time some box shaped mascot with big smiley face came on , did some dodgy dad dancing & fell arse over tit & couldn't get up Burton are now 3 points closer to Scumbridge & Shoe Scum & i didn't get that wet walking home . Crawley up next for me , I hope Darren ' f*cking ' Drysdale isn't officiating , if I was as bad at my job as he is I'd have been on the dole a long time ago .
The stand out thing for me so far in League One is the god awful standard of refereeing, my god, the one we had last night literally had no clue what he was doing, totally lost control.
Hearing there’s a pitch inspection at Oakwell in the morning, weather is looking pretty biblical for the next 24hrs or so, Blues have already put out to try and avoid using rail as trains are already being cancelled..
i imagine a l ot of games are called off because of the weather tonight and tomorrow, where i live in Somerset is forecast for strong winds from 3 AM - 11 AM,Adams Park is fairly high up and open so i doubt our game versus Reading will be played tomorrow.
No Poku No Party Fergie has stated that he'll be out until around March & requires an operation so he'll join ALL the others this season who've also visited the surgeon , Ryan De Havilland , Mohammed Suhoso , Rio Adebissi , Bradley Inhovien , Chris Conn-Clarke, Jed Steer ( i think that's about it ) Nene Derby Monday , a relegation 6 pointer , Posh have Hector Kyprianou back after 30 mins in midweek though I imagine only 60-75 mins , Cian Hayes should replace Kwame Poku & our best defender Emanuel Fernandez is back from suspension so a couple of positives . I think our six fingered neighbours are racked with injuries & Eaves is suspended but they'll always have a chance with our child Oz GK Bilokapic between the sticks , he's been garbage last 2 games & in the match last season at SixFinger Fields he managed to drop the ball into the net in injury time to gift them the winner & it wouldn't surprise me if something similar happened tomorrow , hope I'm wrong
