The Ian Graham interview with This Is Anfield on Youtube is a fascinating watch. I would recommend others to wacth it.
Looks like we're going to have our second player owning a club, Trent going for a club abroad after Mo Salah's ownership of Man Utd.
Its mad how you think footballers are well into the game, but its surprising how many didn't even bother watching or had no interest in the game, especially Carroll, I thought every Geordie was football mad.
Yeah it's mental you'd think that's the reason they started playing from young age and become good at it because they love it so much and dream about playing in cup finals and WCs etc. I've seen other players say similar stuff in the past how they just see it as a job and nothing else (I'm sure David Batty was one of them) like it isn't big deal. I hate watching darts only darts player I can name is Steve The Powerhouse Taylor but I enjoyed having game in pub when I was in my teens so maybe same for them like playing it not arsed for watching it on telly and learning everything about sport.
Yeah David Batty was another one, remember him saying he had absolutely no interest in football and didn't even have a team he supported. More recently Ben White of Arsenal claims to have never been interested in the game. Must be a school thing, played football in PE, was rather good at it, got picked for teams and then scouted by the local club.
Nice to see this vile **** get his comeuppance. He's been sacked from his job and arrested by the police. Apparently taking the piss out of a West Brom fan who did at Hillsborough over the weekend? (I didnt know about this)
Seems the Twitterverse has settled that it is feeling more likely Trent will move on. Half of me is in that camp tbh. I dunno, I think he would quite fancy Real Madrid. To lose him for nothing would be a real kicker but the club has allowed him to get to this point so it is hard to pin blame on the player.
Kelleher may well be absolutely fair in wanting to be a number 1, but he's getting a decent amount of very high level football with us for a number 2! As I said in the match thread, Mamardashvili does look an increasingly astute signing. Alisson is as good as he ever has been, but these muscle injuries are a worry, especially in his position.
Losing Trent for €100m would be a devastating blow for us let alone for nothing. He is simply irreplaceable. Not sure what the hold up is with the contract talks but he absolutely deserves to be among the top earners. I'd genuinely rather lose Salah, VVD or Alisson than Trent.
Van Dijk sent off for the Dutch so will probably miss their next game which is good news I guess for you?
I've read he's wanting to stay here for life, captain the club, etc, but wants the club to show how much they value him i.e. huge pay rise. Just give the lad it, he could literally go anywhere and recieve mega bucks, generational talent he is.
Nope, a talented footballer who has been the main creative force in one of the best teams in Europe for pretty much his entire career, also won the lot. Record breaking assists for a defender too. Nice of you to obsess over us again though.
