Funny that all the talk is of the soft penalty but not of the soft free kick Denmark scored from. Nevermind.
Feel for Kasper, he kept Denmark in it 3 or 4 times and even got to the penalty. Felt weird wanting him to not be so good for once haha. As for England, absolutely incredible victory!
Awful decision. Tonight was the first time the officiating wasn't spot on which led me to believe UEFA wanted Denmark in the final, but then we got a soft pen so perhaps they were just shit.
3-2 Wembley Goal, anyone? Lampard's ghost goal? Are you kidding me, clearly no goal either. As goal-line technology showed: Anyway, yeah, soft penalty but it was only a matter of time when England had scored otherwise. Except maybe in a penalty shootout because there Harry Kane couldn't net in a deflected ball Anyway: England vs Italy now. How's your balance overall against the Italians? Ours is still shit with losing all semi-finals in World Cup or Euro and a World cup final against them (we could only win the 2016 quarter-final). So don't imitate us on Sunday
Presume it was because he was adjudged to have caught Poulsen before the penalty incident so the subsequent decision doesn't matter?
Guess so. Wasn’t a lot of difference between the Kane and Sterling one - if any thing there was more contact in the former. Worse decision was Maguire being booked for going for a header !
My personal favourite Sam Matterface comment last night… (Dolberg forces a save from Pickford but he was offside) Matterface: AND THAT WAS AN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY SAVE FROM PICKFORD Lee Dixon: He was offside
The penalty was a little bit soft but there's still enough there for a penalty. I'm baffled at anyone who has sympathy for Denmark, they spent the entire game time wasting and taking us out anytime we attacked. The referee let them get away with murder all night and we deserved to win that game every day of the week. I was in the ground last night and the atmosphere was absolutely incredible.
I kind of liked a bit in the commentary early on where "Hojbjerg had briefed the Denmark players on Harry Kane" as if 1) It's that simple to stop him. 2) Harry Kane was ever under the radar and any team wouldn't have done there homework on him 3) Denmark defenders didn't then spend the rest of the game making stupid fouls that Kane was looking for. Not briefed well enough in hindsight Kane's a serial cheat but it baffled me how often Denmark let him do it and pick up cheap free kicks. Particularly the likes of Vestegaard who must know what he's about by now.
Just heard Denmark had 10 men towards the end. First I've heard of it (was pissed tbf) but it explains why they looked so f*cked and we passed the ball around them with ease. The piss taking at the end was a joy to behold
Was balance the wrong word that I used ? Tbh sometimes the right ones slip my mind (like "record" in this case) so I just try to 1:1 translate the german word (Bilanz - balance). Dark Arts? Hope, too, we won't see italian shithousery but a great final instead.
After seeing a few clips of the penalty incident again this morning. It’s a penalty. Sterling’s upper right leg is clipped and then bumped in the other hip.
