Tuesday 6 July Spain v Italy Wednesday 7 July Denmark v England and then there were four teams left. Going to call Italy to win their game, obviously no idea who will play who in the other fixture. P.S. Got a vested interest in England as i got them in the works sweepstake. I am on for a double as had France in the last World Cup so could be in the money again.
Expecting two great games here. The best thing that could happen for England (other than beating Denmark) is a Spain win
Italy still look the team to beat with their high press , quick transition , pace , pace on the counter attack , central defensive strength & no one touches their play acting not even the Portuguese , however , Sir Gareth may have a few spells up his sleeve , we'll bore em to death !
I think Italy are still the favourites, but they’ve lost a good attacking outlet in Spinazzola and I’m not sure Emerson is up to the same standard It would be a great spectacle either way
Good shout , but they look so fresh , think they'll have way to much for the Spanish . I'm a big believer in fate & after the Erikson near tragedy & the last minute job of their tournament win in the 90's I have a strange feeling that Denmark will usurp everyone & win it for the second time .
I obviously missed that bit of commentary. He’s how old!? I did have to laugh when they were talking about carrying his dad’s name, and that he’s grown into a great keeper in his own right. Cool - so stop mentioning his dad at every opportunity then!
Props to everyone for not replying to @Taffy's thread until the game was done. Superb discipline. Denmark are a completely different proposition to Ukraine and I'm expecting a nightmare of a game tbh. Think it could easily go the distance with both teams netting. Arrrghhhhhhhhh.
Very important to the way they play, he’s a terrific attacking outlet and I think he’ll be a surprisingly important loss in the same way that Cancelo was for us Spain have looked poor defensively and Bonucci/Chiellini should be able to handle Morata pretty easily
Very sad his injury. I really liked his play in this tournament. Just minutes before he got injured he made a vital save against Lukaku, otherwise the Belgian would have made the 2-2 and who knows how the game had ended then. I liked how the Italians celebrated not only the goals but also their defence actions (like the mentioned Spinazzola save). Great team spirit, that's a key of their success. What I didn't like about Italy's play yesterday was the last 20 minutes and the "shithousery". That was "the old Italy" which I really despise. Did you see Ciro Immobile before Italy scored (think it was Barella)? He was lying on the ground in the penalty area as if he was deadly wounded, then only seconds later after Italy scored, Immobile jumped onto his feet and ran to him to celebrate. Miracle healing. Anyway I hope Italy beats Spain though to prevent them from winning a possible 4th Euro. England vs Denmark can go either way. No prediction here from me.
