So am I, in simple terms I don't think we are the best in Europe right now, especially when you throw in France's know how and experience of recent times.

It does show how far we have come since 2017 though and I believe we are rated higher on the continent than we are at home, where bedwetting and bandwagon jumping is rife

Two victories over England in a week. The future’s red ;)

My England team for the Euros -
    Pickford
    White
    Dunk
    Tomori
    Mitchell
    Rice
    Saka
    Bellingham
    Foden
    Palmer
Kane/Toney/Watkins (I would actually give them 1 game each in the group stages)

None off those defenders will get in the squad probably!

    And won’t take 3 strikers I suspect .

Sorry, for the late reply but I wasn't online for 4 (long :D) weeks (reasons for it are in the BL thread ;) ).

Yes, there was quite some "upset" here in Germany, especially from German Politicians who accused the German FA of not having enough "patriotism" when they change from German Adidas to American Nike as kit supplier after 70 years.

    Totally bollocks from the politicians.
Nike is reported to pay 100mio € per year instead of the 50mio € Adidas is willing to pay. So it's obvious that they changed the kit supplier because the DFB needs the money urgently and it is also used for some of the main tasks of the FA to develop the sport for the masses and the youth development. I personally have absolutely no problems that we'll play in Nike from 2027 on.

    ***************

edit: During my 4 weeks absence the German Nationalteam played 2 of their most convincing matches since I joined this forum. Winning 2-0 away in France and 2-1 at home against the archrivals Netherlands. Especially the first one in France was a very convincing and fully deserved win against a nation we haven't won against since the quarterfinals of the WC 2014 until Sept 2023. Now two wins in a row against one of the top favourites of the Euro.

Yes, both were only friendlies but after some dull performances in the last years it gives back hope. We most certainly not win the Euro 2024 but at least those 2 matches gave back some confidence about the real quality we have in our team.

This would be my England team for the Euros leaving Kane on the bench though as a impact sub if we need a goal in the last 20 mins. Would.also have Trent, Gordon, Bowen, Maddison & Mainoo Ready to come on off the bench if needed. My back up keeper would be Ramsdale who I thought was quality before Arsenal weirdly just dropped him for no apparent reason -
    Pickford
    White
    Stones
    Dunk
    Rico Lewis
    Rice
    Saka
    Bellingham
    Foden
    Palmer
    Watkins

could put it in the same bracket as the issues over number of subs allowed, smaller clubs claiming it aided the bigger clubs and here could be same where a country has 26+ top players will get to bring on better quality subs than a country scraping together 11 half -decent players

you won't keep everyone happy all the time, probably not ever for that matter. maybe they should go youth-centric and have same kind of rules as domestic so register say 23 players not 25 but can also have as many under 21s in your squad as you like (to a max squad of say 30 to allow for the fact domestic is 38 game season)

for those maybe not aware, but I'm sure vast majority are

    Rules on U21 players
Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad.

(17 non-home grown players and the other 8 max must be home grown)
