Great to seeSchalke lose to HAnnover :D But Bayern only able to draw Lever, so its still tight and Bayern cant relax...

Question, the phreas under our usernames, can we change it ourselves? Why has Piccio got 'Banned' written there?! :P

A - Yes you can change it in the user CP section, if you're not sure just pm one of the mods.

B - Ricardo was banned at his own request for 10 days as he wants to concentrate on some important exams I think.

Karl Heinz Rummenigge in today's Bild says : " Dzeko is not on the shopping list, Luca Toni will probably be allowed to stay in Rome, there will be changes in the defence in summer, Franck Ribery will probably not be sold even if he doesn't sign a new contract and would then see out his contract til 2011, Arjen Robben is very happy in Munich and will not be sold under any circumstances." .

We had to win yesterday after Schalke had won earlier in the day, but the way we took an admittedly awful Hannover side apart was fantastic.
Robben has to be the bargain of the decade and Olic has surprised me this season with his "never say die" attitude too.

Some interesting results have happened over the last 2 matchdays, Schalke's result at Hannover was a dissapointment but due to Bayern only drawing at Leverkusen it wasnt majorly costly, but you do sense it is Bayern's to lose now.
I want Schalke and Dortmund in the CL next year, Leverkusen have gone, but the major new threat for a Champions League spot are Bremen, they have done really well this season considering they lost Diego in the summer, Ozil is looking a good prospect for them from what i hear.

Superb result by Bayern yesterday, the way Lyon are plying in France atm, they have a great opportunity to reach the CL Final too.

it is nearly season's end, a possible best Bundesliga X1 from anyone? This is mine

    GK - M Neuer (Schalke)
    RB - J Boateng (Hamburg)
    CB - S Hyypia (Leverkusen)
    CB - B Howedes (Schalke)
    LB - P Lahm (Bayern)
DMC - M Van Bommel (Bayern)
MC - M Ozil (Werdern Bremen)
    RM - F Ribery (Bayern)
    LM - A Robben (Bayern)
    ST - K Kuranyi (Schalke)
    ST - S Kiessling (Leverkusen)

Trainer - Felix Magath (Schalke) or L Van Gaal (Bayern)

Player of the Year is Robben, no doubt about that

I havent watched a huge amount of the Bundesliga this year, but i have heard good reports from the following players and coaches.

Lol, well come back Piccio and good info again zippy. Dortmund I had money on them and that huge 2 points dropped against a poor Hoffenheim side in the race for Europe. Real Madrid must be smacking themselves for letting Robben goal, what a big mistake :D

Great to see Hyypia in that team of the season Piccio, he still has it, what a player. J Boateng have been highlight rated, but for some recent I keep seeing him on the bench at Hamburg>? Whats with that? And a question about Kiessling, what name is that? Because in some website I see they use a weird 'B' sign in his name like Kief'B'ling :P

It's just the German way of sometimes writing double S " ß ", both spellings are ok.

Well, well Gladbach throw a spanner in the works, and Schalke take full advantage of Bayern's slip up to draw level on points with Bayern. It is still Bayern's to lose but it sure aint over yet, Schalke are like an irritating little insect, continuing to cling to a rhino, they are taking the fight to Bayern and are pushing them all the way for this title.

The final two games of the season for each are...

    Bayern

    Bochum (Home)
    Hertha (away)

    Schalke

    Bremen (home)
    mainz (away)

Essentially Bayern have the easier two games on paper, but Hertha could go into the last game of the season fighting to survive, so you do never know, but it is looking like Bayern's title, with Werder Bremen to come 3rd, probs a good thing for the Bundesliga give that they would be seeded in the Champions League qualifier.

Looking at the last two fixtures, Schalke will come up just that bit short yet again.

I don't see it as a slip up. We always do well to get a point in Gladbach and Schalke were always going to win in Berlin.
If we had lost Schalke would have been in control but our goal difference is massively superior to theirs and we have the easier run in. I have a feeling that Werder will get at least a draw in Gelsenkirchen next Saturday and as long as we win our final two league games Schalke can't catch us.

Hertha are as good as down already and will be relegated next weekend in Leverkusen.

Whats gone wrong at Hamburg this year? Am i right in thinking they can only qualify for Europe if they win the Europa League?

It looks that way now, the performance today at Hoffenheim was a joke, hammered 5-1 !
Expect Labbadia to be on his bike if they don't reach the final this week.

Having looked at the table once more, yep Hertha are dead and buried, though Bochum are playing for their lives and wont want to go through a relegation play off, so i think they will bust a gut next week vs Bayern, they certainly wont roll over, it will be 10 men behind the ball, tackle hard, play on the counter.
Even though i think Werder do have a chance of a draw next week vs Schalke, Magath is usually excellent at these sorts of games, last year at Wolfsburg when they crushed Bayern at home in a judgement day game.

Bayern will probs still win it, but i reckon it could be on goal difference.

As for Hamburg, no idea why they got rid of Martin Jol, they could have been in the Champions League places had they kept him, he is wasted in the Dutch league, Wolfsburg should have got him last summer, he would have been miles better than Armin Veh.

Hamburg have been so poor lately its sad to see. I hope they win the Europa otherwise they will need some big changes. Disappointment.

How can u say it was not a slip up zippy? Bayern was playing such a dangerous game to get the draw. Im mad though cos they cost me badly in my accumulator bets! :P I didnt pick up on the fact that they could still award a draw, which they have used now. Lucky for them Bochum and Hertha are really weak teams and the title is as good as theirs already as mentioned a few weeks back! :P

Simply because a draw means winning the title is still in our hands, win both games and Schalke can't catch us.
