Looks like Kuranyi is joining Dynamo Moscow.

Well Bayern are Champions, Schalke are in the CL and Hertha are relegated.
The final CL berth will go to Werder, Leverkusen or Dortmund and the relegation dogfight is between Nürnberg, Bochum and Hannover with the latter two playing each other next week.

Hertha relegated, bet you would have got long odds on that at the start of the season, im thinking of going to Berlin in August before i start my last year at University, and im also thinking of going to a Hertha Berlin game, there in the 2 Bundesliga now so it will be even cheaper next season to go and watch them.
Key to them bouncing back will be keeping all their players, they wont do that, but if they can keep their good players like Drobny, Kobiashvili, Gekas, Ebert etc they might have a chance, Friedrich will probably leave though as he is a German international and his chances of staying in German squads will be affected if he is playing Bundesliga 2 next season.

Was just wondering, other then Dortmund v Shalke, are then any fierce derby matches/ rivalries in the Bundesliga?

There don't seem to be many clubs from the same cities in the top flight, I guess that may be because Germany is such a big country?

Bayern - Nürnberg, Leverkusen - Köln, there are many other rivalries but the teams are in different divisions atm.
Apart from the obvious local derbies games like Hannover - Braunschweig, Frankfurt - Offenbach, Dresden - Leipzig, Rostock - St Pauli, KSC - Stuttgart etc are all games guaranteed to get police leave cancelled!

Thanks Zippy, would you say Nurnberg are Bayern's biggest rivals then? I'm guessing they are one of those teams everyone loves to hate anyway!

Bundesliga football blog:Schedule, fatigue and fall-outs plague Germany's World Cup chances

The man is an idiot and too stubborn for his own good.Kuranyi should be back in the side. That said, whatever 'crisis' happens with Germany before a tournament ignore it, as they will get it together in time for their first game, they always do!!!

Taking Podolski and Klose and leaving out the likes of Kuranyi and Müller is lunacy imo, although Müller will be in the squad Podolski will play.
Adler and Rolfes are out of the World cup through injury too.

Nürnberg and 1860, but yes Bayern tend to polarise opinion over here !

I would say that the most fierce rivalry in the Bundesliga is Dortmund vs Schalke, but Hamburg vs St Pauli runs it close imo.
Nurnberg and Bayern is also a passionate rivalry too.

Just read a ludicrous rumour in the Mail that we are to offer Man Utd 7 million quid for Park !!?
Complete rubbish. Seven million, where do they find these stories ? Van Gaal would have to be crackers, he looked woeful in the first leg of the CL quarter final, like a headless chicken running about.

Should be interesting next season with St Pauli in the league.
HSV v St Pauli might be a bit mental

    1 Bundesliga - 34 Spieltag :

    Samstag 15.30 :

    Hertha - Bayern 1-3 (Olic, Robben 2)

    Mainz - Schalke 0-0

    Nürnberg - Köln 1-0

    Bochum - Hannover 0-3

    Werder - HSV 1-1

    Freiburg - BVB 3-1

    Hoffenheim - VfB 1-1

    Gladbach - Leverkusen 1-1

    Wolfsburg - Frankfurt 3-1

The last round of this season's Bundesliga and with the title decided the interest is on the CL qualifying place in third and the relegation battle with only Hertha definately doomed.
The game between Bochum and Hannover with both in serious danger of going down is the game of the day imo.

Bayern ease to the already certain title with a 3-1 win over relegated Hertha, Olic and Robben (2) the scorers.

Bochum are down after being thrashed 0-3 at home by Hannover and Nürnberg are in the play offs v Augsburg.

Bremen grab the third CL place, Leverkusen, Dortmund and VfB are in the europa league.

I just really enjoy Dortmund playing internationally. Now I'm just hoping that Arminia won't lose their license and can get back in the Bundesliga very soon...

The Russian League is now starting to attract some decent players to its shores and with Spaletti coaching Zenit some decent coaches too. I think its an intriguing move by Kuranyi but fair play to him for giving it a try.

Wow Hannover survive, hats off to them, they looked dead and buried about 3 months ago but the appointment of Mirko Slomka as coach has turned out to be a good move, i reckon Hamburg should have a look at Slomka, he didnt do too badly when he was Schalke coach and got them to the Champions League Quarter Finals and a Second place in the Bundesliga (the year when Stuttgart won it, 07 i think)

Once again Zippy congrats on absolutely securing the title yesterday, and enjoy the German Cup final down in Berlin
