Eventually got money back for games, which has come in handy. You can individually return the tickets you want as well, but only for the next couple of weeks. They turned down bids that were far more favourable to supporters in order to do this. Its the 60th anniversary, which is hardly a big deal, and it's what they've officially said for sure. However this is Platini's idea, we all know how corrupt he is and it's hard to look past the political and economic benefits for UEFA by opting to go down this route, whilst being completely oblivious to the concerns of supporters.
Rebumping thread So now we have Hungary, Macedonia, Slovakia and Scotland joining the party. Took their time getting here but better late than never.

Worry is we if we win our group could face the runner up in that final group in the 2nd which would be very hard. But then guess you have to beat the best at some point.
Possible, Donny. Atm I would say the same but normally we played always very well against Portugal when we had them in the group. Like 2014 (with the legendary free kick from CR7 against the "one man wall Philipp Lahm" ) One good thing if we crash out in the group stage: We get rid of Löw, at last! . edit: I don't want to forget to congratulate the Scots for making it to the Euro. Well done, guys. Long overdue. First time in the 21st century that you made it to a tournament. I'm glad you did it. Over the moon, @SALTIRE?
They can still get through in third, last time out 3 points was enough to get through in that position.
I think Donny knows that. It was his team Portugal himself in 2016 that advanced from their group as third in the standings (behind Iceland and Hungary) with only 3 Draws in 3 matches and then won it all. Tbh I'm no friend of this "best 3rd placed teams advance too" rule. I hate it already that the 3rd placed teams in the Champions League can play in the Europa League knockout rounds. Third place finish in a group of 4 teams should be a sure end, imo!
It's not ideal, but probably the only way they can fit 24 teams in to 16 whilst keeping the group stage format.
Which country would host the tournament on its own ? I presume someone like Germany or Portugal as the European competitions were there last year . Or us as we do have the vaccine and grounds to cope with fans if they are allowed. Euro 2020: Uefa 'thinking about' switching tournament to one country
If they want any fans at all they’ll have to put it in one country or at least make make it stricter in terms of teams traveling around. In today’s world it would be hugely inappropriate to bring encouraging thousands of fans to be jumping on planes and traveling Europe. I hope we don’t get it though. I want us to host a tournament when we can actually have fans and a proper atmosphere, hosting the Euros now would ruin a special atmosphere and weaken our chances of a 2030 word cup IMO.
I think the idea of one country holding it, would most likely be to reduce travel and would be behind closed doors. If they open it up to fans, you'd imagine it would be reduced capacity and fans only from that host nation.
Quite ironic really. It has always been a one or two host country format. They decided to take this one across the continent and oddly it coincides with a pandemic that restricts travel.
Shocked they haven't already decided to shift it to one country. Saw it suggested just playing the whole thing in one city, London could easily put it on and have stadiums fitting of the occasion. Wembley Olympic Emirates White Hart Lane Stamford Bridge Craven Cottage (if they finish that stand) Twickenham Brentford's new ground Errrm, The Den.
Fully agree with you, only thing is I think Twickenham refuse to play football there, this came up during the Wembley wilderness years I believe.
