My maths betrayed me! 70 years. I don’t think it’s takes too much away from my point though.

    • Granted Bayern have that know how, by no means a walkover but in isolation you look at it and shake your head. Spotty league performance, manager on the way out. Vs probably the best Arsenal team in years. I look at Arteta in Europe and it’s not great. Every team has the ones that are a sickener, we had plenty under Ferguson. I’m sure city feel it tonight as well.

I’ll agree on seeing how the rest of the season pans out. If you hold serve you can look at it differently, let’s be honest if city don’t drop another point then it is what it is but as an Arsenal fan I’d want to see you take it deep. Win the next 2, exert a bit of pressure. Starting messing about and drop points again this weekend and I’m looking at this manager in crunch time and his ability in pressure situations. Take it into May. Make city win at Brighton next week.

He’s obviously not going anywhere but fall apart and honestly I don’t even know how psychologically you come back from it. That’s probably dramatic but 3 seasons on the bounce falling apart will leave a scar. But the overall trend without doubt you can’t question of course

Massive game on Saturday, need get back to it, we are still 28 unbeaten, need to keep that going and stay away from penalty shoot outs for a long time

Last time Madrid dumped us out we went on with the league hopefully same again

I grew up with a City fan in Bournemouth in the 80's so i'm probably a bit biased, but always found their fans knowledgeable about the game and quite grounded.

The City fans I encounter now are the same. It's a shame their success has hardened people's views about them. Understandable I suppose, but they have always had decent support through the 70's & 80's, despite what people think.

Does feel like Haaland needs to be scoring a goal a game to be worth it at the moment, given he doesn’t do much else. He’s got 12 in the last 21 games. Not terrible, but 5 of those came in one game against Luton.

    Nobody likes a know-it-all ;)

You wrote "No problem" for Bayern against Arsenal before the first leg. I haven't seen both matches but was it really no problems for Bayern? I mean, both matches winning 5-1 like Bayern did a few years ago against Arsenal I'd consider a no problem but a 2-2 and a 1-0?

1st leg home matches for both? Not ideal

Not same player since his injury , at least he won't be wasting time at the Euros, hopefully a few others can pick up slight knocks and be rested over Summer.

I personally thought City were incredibly unlucky not to win the tie. 2 lucky goals for Madrid at the Bernabeu and some poor finishing from city last night got them through.

As for their support, they always had a very good following in the 80's but they were never a huge club, so I don't get all this dick waving about how many fans each club has. It's stupid. They are who they are and they have as many fans as they have. I suppose it's a bit of jealousy because they are winning a lot of trophies.

Some **** who never goes the game loses any rights to slag any crowd from PL to conference, I worked Rochdale 0 Boreham Wood 0 on Tuesday. B/wood bought 38 fans , fair ****s to every single one of them especially as it was postponed week before after they'd set off.

And whose this aimed at? Me? if you noticed I didnt actually have a go at your "crowds" I had a go at the myth, just like the myth in Liverpool, that Manchester and/or Liverpool are Blue, are they hell.

As for not going the game? Nope, I don't, packed in years ago, still spent 25+ years as a regular match goer. Kicked the game into touch once prices started getting silly.

As for small clubs, I was once a regular of a short lived local side of mine Knowsley United (formerly Kirkby Town until they moved to Huyton), literally 500 yards fro my door step, attendances were pretty much below 100 every game, some games they were in the 20's

Not aimed at any particular person. You see it all over social media some **** who couldn't find Old Trafford/Anfield etc on a map give it out. Look at the ****s who reply to accounts showing away ends and ****s try shaming clubs for not taking 3000 to Bristol City on a Wednesday night.

Similar to me. You will still get some upstart bellends though that don't realise you've done more games than them but you just prioritise other stuff nowadays.

A little unlucky really. Didn't create enough to say they were incredibly unlucky. Also a couple of madrids goals were lucky at the bernebeau but they did get in behind the defence to get within five yards of the goal and anything is possible after that. Also as good as city's goals were at the bernebeau they were all long range efforts so they never really created any clear chances. Last night only 2 clear chances really. Don't get me wrong I think a team on the front foot all the time who create a few chances deserve to beat a bus parking team but they just didn't do enough
