Got my tickets for Coventry. Any tips for parking? As it's 12.30 kick off, and going with 2 under 12s, probably easier to drive than faf around with trains.
Yes, check mirrors, engage reverse gears and reverse into Parking space. It’ll be easier to get away if you’re going out Forwards. Seriously, last time I drove to the Cov Arena , (a while back so my memories not clear) we managed to get Parked in (I think) a school on a grass Car Park. We did have to Pay but it was substantially cheaper than the Car Park/s next to the ground. Slight problem being I can’t remember whereabout’s it was. It was about 5-10 mins walk to the ground though, with a Chippy Very close by. Maybe a Cov Fan can help more. Ps Sorry, but I hope you lose.
On the odd occasion I’ve drove you can park literally straight off the motorway, Novotel iirc, it’s a bloody good walk but straight in the car and straight on the motorway after, was back in Brum within an hour of the final whistle. If you behave they turn a blind eye to you having a tot in the hotel bar too
Thought you were going to say and reverse out of Coventry. Probably not bad advice either. 20 minute walk, according to Google so seems like a good shout. Was there a fee? Not for them turning a blind eye, but for the parking.
Middlesbrough away at 12.30 in a couple of weeks, for a game that means absolutely **** all to both teams. Anyone that is travelling is mental. There is no point
Taken the same point of view of our game tomorrow. Norwich away, at least 4 hours and £90 on a train, probably longer in the car, even longer on a coach, **** that for a dead rubber.
was my first time back in boro this season for about a decade and i was really surprised how much it had changed, you can tell some money has been spent on it and it's a lot less grim than it used to be.
Had to pre-book it, tenner, but well worth it, secure, piece of piss to get in/out and back on the motorway in minutes, it’s literally on the island as you leave the M6. CCFC v Queen Park Rangers | Big Parking It’s on there ^^ carpark “P2” it’s actually next door to the Novotel, but we still went in there for a pint.
Aye a lot of towns/city's (including Sunderland) have had money thrown at them to try and improve them over the last few decades, so I'd imagine it's improved a lot. Hartlepool was the same, a very grim place back in the day but its like a completely different place now. Haven't been to Boro for a very long time. Last time I was down that way I was working in Eaglescliffe for a few months which is classed more as Stockton I think. Decent ppl tbf and some fit women
I expect that Birmingham have sold out for tomorrow's game. Were the club offered additional tickets over the usual 2500ish? It's just that there has been a big drop off in home attendance for the last 3 games.
Weirdly the most run down places i've been to in the last decade or so have all been in the south, places like Gillingham and a lot of kent towns are massively neglected in a way many of the ex-industrial northern towns aren't, and really feel like they're dying places.
Sold out on gold for us, tickets are like rocking horse shit. Pub open at 7am, 9am we’re off. Should be up your way by about 11, got a social club booked, had to stay out of the way a bit as the SYP were not having ten unofficial coaches of piss heads rocking up in the TC.
Assume that will be the Transport Club in Masborough which is about 400 yds from Millmoor near the old railway station. If it is, there are a couple of old fashioned pubs opposite. The New Inn and the Midland, both are a bit old school but the prices are ok. Enjoy your day. It's a win win for us, we welcome old SE back and if we win, it will be like old times. If we lose it's really bad for Wednesday, so good luck.
This is comedy gold this and should be pinned a mackem of all people having a go about the Boro c'mon mate do you walk round with blinkers on all the time.
