It was a great decision to can Basil Fawlty, always leave the crowd wanting more, unlike shows like Dexter that left the crowd wincing at the awfulness.
Arrested Development I'm talking about the original run not the awful Netflix bolt on. I want to forget that exists. It ended on a cliff hanger, it should have had another season.
Caught this show when I was in America before it was in the UK (Christ remember the days when shows took months to move across the Atlantic!) Followed it religiously for a while. Felt is started to drag a bit…like of it had ended properly I don’t think it would be in this thread but a bloody cliff hanger.
I got a screwdriverrrr , it's a philliiiiips Cult comedy gold , reckon Psycho Paul is Liam Gallagher's alter ego
Whilst not cancelled I'll say Game of Thrones ended way too quickly. The last season or so felt so rushed and condensed when you consider the pacing of the show's earlier seasons. The quality really suffered from it too. Really it needed about 10 seasons imo but for some reason they always had that season 8 deadline.
I think its still in limbo but Taboo (BBC, now on Netflix). Ive only thought of it because I'm watching it again on Netflix. Back in 2017 I thought it was brilliant and 2nd time round just as good. Hopefully with a bit of Netflix momentum it'll finally get that second series and off this thread.
i was gutted when Flash Forward was cancelled after only one season . it was from the same team as Lost, with basic premise of the show that everyone in the world passed out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and saw their future, but why?
Have you watched one recently? Painful af. Brilliant TV when it was on though and the Five Go Mad series was even funnier..
The pop culture references have dated badly as you'd expect and of course the special effects and production values are famously awful and looked shit even 40 years ago when it was first on TV. Still very funny though. Although I'd be surprised if anyone under about 35 would be able to watch through the dated look of the show for very long or understand the cultural context of the era that it's set in. That said, the themes of carefree youth and skint students struggling to get by in poor quality accommodation are pretty timeless.
