Saw this pop up on my timeline crazy casting wish they'd bring this back I think Fincher is open to it but Netflix apparently think it's too expensive...ok but you can renew shit like Umbrella Academy.
Father Ted. Obviously not cancelled as Dermot Morgan sadly died, making any further series impossible. But it definitely felt like it finished too soon and it had another series or two in it. Such a tragedy.
The casting was superb, one of the best shows on Netflix. It's a real shame we didn't get a third season since they spent the first two building up the BTK storyline. Good on Fincher not compromising and doing it on the cheap.
I agree, but 25 episodes isn't bad and at least it wasn't allowed to limp along as so many US sitcoms do when they're past their sell-by date.
If there's one small silver lining to come from his untimely death, it was that it conclusively finished the show for good and meant there couldn't be an ill advised cash in reboot years later. It probably had one more series left in it in the late 90s which I'd imagine would have been good. But you just know there would have been a crap reboot sometime in the early 2010s. And definitely a few Christmas specials. It's like this Frasier reboot that's coming up now. I'm really hoping it's good but I just know that I'm going to watch it and wish they'd left it in the past.
Would give anything for it to come back, but it's never happening. Someone like Musk should splurge cash on this instead.
I didn't know there was a re-make of Frasier in the offing, like you I'm not optimistic. I quite like the odd 'special', the hour long specials of OF&H are pretty much my favourite episodes looking back, and the superb Detectorists had a couple of specials that worked really well too.
Not sure if it was officially cancelled but True Detective is back Rotten Tomatoes on Instagram: "#TrueDetective: Night Country, starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, premieres January 14."
Really pissed with this being cancelled ,so many f*cking questions unanswered. I may not trust Netflix again !
I'll definitely be giving this a go. I'm not holding my breath though as both season 2 & 3 couldn't get near the first. I like Jodi Foster but haven't heard of Kali Reis, after a quick search, it turns out she's a kickboxer who is giving acting a go.
Season 2 wasn't great but I thought season 3 was pretty decent but yeah none touch the masterpiece of season 1.
The fourth season looks promising. I have said this before on this forum, but will repeat it again. If you are fan of season one, do give the Spanish movie La Isla Minima a watch. You will love it.
I think I will give season 3 another go with fresh eyes. It's been a while since I've watch S1 and I can forget S2 even exists. Thanks, I'll give it a try
I thought it started okay then descended into absolute tripe, still frustrating though for those who like a programme to have it summarily binned off after just one series.
Thought Lost in Space ended way too early. They focussed so much on one storyline when I was expecting them to move from planet to planet exploring. When you're dealing with space exploration your potential for storylines is literally limitless.
Watchmen Not actually cancelled as the writing team decided not to do a 2nd series but a shame none the less.
I thought the last episodes moved it along more towards intriguing ,it was definitely a slow burner but those last two episodes with the hint of a possible return for Dr Manhattan ? It's kind of unforgivable they denied us that....... Lazy B@strds.
