Tomorrow is like good ol' times. All 9 Bundesliga Matches are beginning at the traditional time : 3:30 pm, no evening matches, no sunday matches....love it!!!! HSV at Schalke. 1 point would be great together with a loss of Mainz in the match against Frankfurt. And it would be great if Wolfsburg wins against Gladbach (sorry for that) because next week HSV has to play against Wolfsburg at home. And when Wolfsburg is already secure, then they'll (maybe) don't give 100% anymore I don't want a third relegation playoff in 4 years!
Maybe Lasogga's 1-1 in the 92nd minute could be the Goal of the season for HSV. Without it, #16 it would be and now we have still the chance to avoid the Relegation Playoff match against the 3rd of the 2nd Bundesliga....with a win against bloody Wolfsburg. Would be great to put Wolfsburg on #16 in the last match and a playoff match against a fellow Lower Saxonian club (Hannover or Braunschweig). yeah, 37, season record (that's more than 4 goals per game)
oh ffs, Braunschweig. 0-6 at Bielefeld. Unbelievable. Hannover on the other side wins the top match against Stuttgart 1-0. Both now at 66 points. Braunschweig at 63 and they have a 6 goals worse goal difference. This would mean a Relegation playoff match against.....Wolfsburg (yeah, I know....)
Interesting to see the 2 relegated sides maybe bouncing back straight away - does that happen often? Guess Stuttgart are actually a very big team so like Newcastle here expected to get promoted..
Hasn't happened since 2004/2005 when Köln and Frankfurt did it. They were destined to bounce back straight away. If not then they would lose many key players in the next season. One season in the 2nd is okay for such a big club and with their great following of nearly 50.000 even in the 2nd Bundesliga the financial loss is calculable. But they would get some problems if they didn't make it right back, same for Hannover.
I know I shouldn't be in the Volksparkstadion today in the Relegation-place Final against Wolfsburg because of all the drama and excitement (and I am sure it will be a lot of drama I know my HSV ) and my heart still needs recovery but I can't help myself. I shouldn't be there but I have to be there. Hopefully it will be our last home match this season. Just in case I get another heart attack in the stadium...it was nice knowing you
Happy to hear that the Bundesliga clock will keep ticking. Stay forever Hamburg. Congrats to Bayern on winning the title and to Aubameyang on beating Lewandowski to the top goalscorer award.
Thanks, Helped us Just as I said here before the match. Lots of drama. For 88 minutes it was the most horrible outcome for me, a relegation match against Eintracht Braunschweig, so a match between "born and bred" and "alma mater". And I had given up hope when at the end (in the 86th minute) Coach Gisdol put Luca Waldschmidt on the field. A 21 year old "Milchbubi" (Milksop says the dictionary) who hadn't scored a single Bundesliga Goal yet. I thought "Thank **** for that, now we are really doomed. This guy won't do it"....but football writes another of his unbelievable stories. 2 minutes later Waldschmidt scored his first Bundesliga Goal and we are save again. The Dino survives!!!!! Unabsteigbar HSV The 57.000 sellout crowd went wild (ah, wait, only 51.000 went wild, because the 6.000 from Golfsburg shitted their pants now). What a story: 2 points after 10 matches at the beginning of the season. No one has yet survived after such a disastrous start, only the HSV. Now all my fingers are crossed for Braunschweig in the Playoff Final against the hated neighbours (Wolfsburg is only 30 km away) and next seasons true Lower Saxonian Derby against Hannover 96 (50 km away) and let's put those jumped-up ones back in the 2nd tier. Would be great to have Eintracht Braunschweig back in the Bundesliga, in the 50th year after winning the Championship. Thursday and Monday are the dates for the matches. edit: Hopefully it will be entertaining matches....with the right winner, Braunschweig The actual format is in place since 2009. Only 2-times (from 8) the 2nd Bundesliga club advances. (Nürnberg in 2009 and Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2012). Third time lucky, then
First relegation leg: Wolfsburg vs Braunschweig 1-0 Gomez the old cheater. What a bloody refereeing error to give the hand penalty because Gomez played the ball with the hand first. And later he refused to give an interview because he already knew what he has done. We could see this several times and even Stefan Effenberg as expert has said that this was a wrong decision. Bloody Wolves (the German ones not the English )
What did you expect from a Relegation Match? Here plays "the scum of the Bundesliga", the #16 and not the glorious #1, the mighty Bayern Yes, it wasn't a beautiful game and that it was decided due to a bad decision of the referee fits in perfectly. Hopefully on Monday the Lions are biting the Wolves btw: Today, live too, on German TV: Relegation match of the 2nd Bundesliga, 1st leg: Jahn Regensburg (3.Liga) vs TSV 1860 Munich. Here I am hoping that the Löwen (Lions) are losing. Can't stand this club anymore due to this "investor".
Both teams were on a similar level though and should still have produced a better game. Yes I too hope Sechzig get battered.
DFB Cup Final in Berlin, today: Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt If Frankfurt wins they'll be in the Europa league (they finished out of the EL places at #11 due to their very bad run in the recent months). If Dortmund wins (they qualified for the CL) then #7 Freiburg will play in the Europa league next season.
Underachieved this season, finished 3rd with by far the 2nd best squad in the league and they should of challenged better for the league.
