I been driving for 20 years. Never had a single claim and over 2 years it went from 260 quid a year to close to 700 quid. this year i really will be shopping about to get a better deal. think its a piss take myself and really annoying when you get pricks driving about with no insurance

being loyal to one firm these days doesn't make no odds at all

Does anyone know if a old BMW from the 90's would be high to insure for an 18 year old than say, a slightly newer Ford from mid 2000's? Saw one advertised near my street and looked good and a decent price.

Might get a car providing I get a move on and past my theory test, then the real one, then secure this part time job to pay for insurance. If it's a silly amount to pay I might just wait a few years until it gets cheaper or it's really neccessary. Would be a bit now, driving to work, college, the shops, would be able to join the gym also. Transport is good but annoying, especially when you're shelling out a tenner to update your Oyster card every other week.

All BMW's will cost a lot for any young person to insure. Thats because they are more powerful/more tuned than most other manufacturers (obviously excluding supercars and the like) and are the kind of cars that thieves like to steal (more so than Fords, Vauxhall's etc etc)

A tenner every 2 weeks is nothing compared to what buying and running a car will cost you.
