Really can’t stand these “Twitter teams”. You get these numpties that run these accounts and pollute thousands of sheep followers with daft knee jerk reactions and scapegoating.

Traore: No where near good enough or proven enough for us to even consider.

RLC: Mixed loan performance which we didn’t really learn much from. He continued to be an injury prone talent with flashes of his talent every now and then. Needs much more game time.

Van Ginkel: Excels in the Dutch League but not an option we should be considering. Clearly only makes the “twitter teams” because he’s a regular goal scorer but he’s not good enough.

Zouma: Guy just got relegated with Stoke and people still seem to think he’s good. He’s found his level. Really don’t get what people see in him.

You really set an unrealistic standard here. Even when we were in the CL, we struggled to attract top talent.

“Unrealistic standard”? Sorry I expect better than a Championship player, an academy prospect with 45 appearance (god knows how few actual minutes that is), a CB for a team who’s just been relegated and a player who’s only proven himself in the Dutch league.

Your standards aren’t high enough I’m afraid.

YOU may not think that's good enough, but that is clearly who we are targeting given our position. Even when we were in the CL, we failed to attract such top targets. Reality is, no top player will prefer a Europa league side over a side in the CL, despite the money we bring forward. Last player to do such a thing was Kante, and even then he wasn't considered as valuable as he is now. Not to mention he's a Chelsea fan.

I won't sit by and pretend we are realistically going after the Fekirs', Asensios', Bales' Baileys', Milinkovic Savics, etc or any top player we are linked with.

Kante was only 2 seasons ago trying to pretend the transfer was a historic thing. Not sure why you think he was a Chelsea fan either.

Arsenal signed both Aubameyang and Lacazette who are far more high profile than a Championship player.

Absolutely bizarre how you think we now need to resort to the Championship and academy for players. You’d think we were relegated.

Funny how YOU think that’s who we’re targeting. If you knew anything you’d know that you can’t rely on Twitter and Media gossip for transfer rumours. We’ve not even hired a new manager yet half our transfer business is supposedly done. How do people fall for this click bait shit over and over again???

Yet we had the chance to sign Aubameyang, and yet we opted for Giroud?

Again, I am speaking of the standards of the club, not what who you think we should be going after.

Let's revisit this thread in 3 months time, and I gurantee you we won't be buying any higher talent than Martial this summer.

I’ll enjoy our revisit! You’ve set a high benchmark to beat. Think Saints will probably have a better window then the one you predicted

Any Chelsea fan getting worried? Your top class players (Hazard & Courtois) sounding like they're not 100% commited anymore. You're signing average players to replace the better ones that leave. Anyone think this could be the start of the end? You've got easily the best youth academy in the country but use it just to produce sellable assets not use them. You could become the Ajax of England but are too fixed on short termism. By Ajax I mean producing their own players who challenge for the title, not being a selling club. Although when Barcelona or Real Madrid come knocking, you'll always be a selling club, along with any other Premier League club.

Just like the other handful of times we lost players to Barca and Real

More quotes out from Hazard and Courtois. Looks like Hazard has it clear that he wants to be in Madrid and Courtois wants to follow saying he’s also worth more than he gets. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see Hazard go but would be surprised to see both go in the same window. If anything though, Courtois seems like the one that’s going to be more vocal about things.

Well looks like Courtois is officially out. €35 isn’t bad for a player in his final year but I don’t like the keeper prospects available.

€35 won’t even cover his flight to Madrid. I’ve also seen €40m mentioned but either way he’s going well under his value.

Not a player the fans have ever taken to (you can’t blame us with his constant flirting with Real) but he will be difficult to replace. None of the options are exciting me at the moment.

Nothing concrete as of yet he is even currently talking with Real. Could well stay here another year or we could sign him an extension and agree to sell him next summer.

Ideally, I'd love Sergio Rico as his replacement.

    Kristof Terreur on Twitter

Very reliable source for Belgian footballers. I trust his word over any other source. Courtois deal is as good as done.

2 weeks left in the window, feel if Willian does leave we will need a proper replacement. Hope we don't just convert Moses back into a winger.

Maybe we’ll go for Fekir then

Although for the last couple years it seems we are only linked to Italian players or players from Serie A
