Just seen first one, thought it was decent. Love the lead, and the supporting cast and storyline were good, I'm already of the opinion it will be better than the Capaldi era but maybe I'm biased as it's very "northern" at the moment....just Bradley Walsh in there for cockney effect.
Obviously big budget, and Whittaker didn't annoy me like I thought she would. I'm not really a Dr. Who fan these days but it was well put together and had a good cast along with the usual cobblers plot of course.
Stopped watching Dr Who mid way through Matt Smith's tenure (not that I didn't like him, just got bored of it) and only caught the specials since then. Thought I'd give it a go again and think they've done well for the first two episodes. Jodie Whittaker suiting the role well so far, interesting cast backing her up. Simple story lines to begin with as is typical but thumbs up from me so far.
Thought last nights episode was the best so far. The central character was Rosa Parks, the civil rights activist who refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery Alabama. I thought Vinette Robinson played Rosa really well.
After the Rosa Parks episode it's gone downhill fast. Last weeks show will be the last watched by me.
Typical BBC pc bollocks, tonight's episode is about the British Empire you just know we're going to be told it was evil with lots of left wing preaching,it's time The BBC was sold off and made to finance itself rather than through the license fee.
Jodie Whittaker is to step down from the lead role in Doctor Who, the BBC has confirmed. The first woman to play the Time Lord will bow out in Autumn 2022, along with showrunner Chris Chibnall. Whittaker will star in a new six-part series later this year, and three specials next year, before she exits. In a statement, Whittaker paid tribute to Chibnall and the Doctor Who team, adding: "I will carry the Doctor and the lessons I've learnt forever." Chibnall, who appointed the actress to replace Peter Capaldi in the role, has been in charge of the BBC One series since 2017. It has not yet been announced who will take over from Whittaker in the leading role. "In 2017 I opened my glorious gift box of size 13 shoes," Whittaker said in a statement. "I could not have guessed the brilliant adventures, worlds and wonders I was to see in them." Doctor Who: Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall to leave in 2022
Only watched her 1st 2 episodes, thought the 1st was really good then went back to complete shite in the 2nd, gave up on this show when Smith was the doctor, storylines became stupid.
I watched the first half of her first season, and then dropped the show like I had done in the past. No slight on Jodie and her work - I thought she was good - but whilst I used to be a big fan of the show in the Ecclestone/Tennant/early-Smith period, the show just doesn't hold my attention nowadays. They'll no doubt do a big special for her ending and subsequent regeneration into #14, so I'm sure that'll be good as most Dr. Who specials are.
The storylines in the children's tv show about an alien time traveller fighting other aliens became stupid?
Hope they can get David Tennant back that is the only thing that would get me interested again the last two doctors have been crap.
The stories have been shite for me, way too convoluted. It's always been a show that can appeal to kids and adults and managed to get the balance right through the Tennant era and as much as I enjoyed the early Matt Smith episodes, they just started to get too many over reaching arcs that half the time were pure nonsense.
Yeah Matt Smith was good just awful writing at times let him down. The companions have been quite crap in the reboot too I think Rose, Amy & Rory the exceptions.
