I've never heard of the new bloke, I gave Whittaker a look when she started but she was terrible after a while, so I don't watch it any more anyway. I agree that Eddie Izzard would have been ideal, but she'd never commit to a repeat series like that, maybe Richard Ayoade, but anyway . . . :shrug

    Is that a sarcastic "clearly"?

I believe Russell T Davies is back isn't he? The decline in scripts started when he left IMO.

Sci-fi has gone "woke"? Whatever next? A show about people of all nations and races getting along for a common purpose, even with other species? Everyone being treated as equals? What a dark time for the genre.

Ayoade would have been a shout but alas they've gone down the Ruby Rhod route which for me gave the Fifth Element an irritating rash of overkill. Other than that ,I've never heard of the bloke.

Not necessarily down to the cast, and I think RTD is the best writer for Dr WHO but sorry, that Christmas episode sucked balls majorly IMO. Dr WHO is on probation again, have to wait while May, but if that is anything to go by?:shrug

Wasn't the best episode but like the new doctor and the companion could be the best in a while.

Missed this but watched the previous 3 episodes with Tennant and was quite disappointed, Davies stories were poor compared to how they used to be.

Doctor Who Christmas Special. A lot of prancing about ,dancing and singing ,I really wasnt expecting 'Dr Who The Musical' and I might be wrong but I'm vaguely concerned Dr Who is now sampling the nightlife and f*cking clubbing it. I may be jumping the gun and God knows somebody out there will call it a fresh take on the character ,but for me personally I remember Dr Who being an aloof individual shrouded in mystery and not running around like a man possessed on any given occasion.

Quite simply and in simple layman's terms it was absolute gash and an embarrassment to all those Dr Who fans who remember when it was cool to be exactly that !

What the actual living f*ck have I just watched ? Absolutely decimated it's entire fan base short of f*cking Ru Paul. It's was like an episode of Bernards Watch albeit with Bernard in drag and prone to breaking out into prompted vomit inducing song. Honestly the worse episode I've ever seen and hands down the worst DR. Patrick Troughton ,Jon Pertwee ,Tom Baker will be on the third spin cycle in their respective graves. I only watched the b@stard thing because the wife has been waiting for Eurovision to start and didn't want to turn over in case she forgot it was on.

Same here. Had it on before Eurovision, didn't know before that it was on but thought why not, I'd give it another try. Really wasn't impressed at all, just a completely uninteresting mess, hollow and at times genuinely irritating.

I lost my love of it during the Matt Smith era, not because I disliked him but because the stories fell away. Tried a couple of episodes here and there since, half of Jodie's first series, but I guess it's not for me any more.

Would love to be proved wrong of course, a small part of me still wants the show to be as good as it once was.
