It’s this weird trend of trying to make your penalties look better than they are.

It’s not enough to just leather it as hard as you can. You’ve got to out-think the keeper now. It’s not a game of chess, just twat it ffs.

Unless you're a genuinely class player (benzema, Thiago, pirlo) then yeah, just put power in and get it close to the corner.

Its from 12 yards, there's only so much 'technique' you can use from that range anyway. Just have a clear plan of where you're going to put it and hit it firmly and cleanly. From that range, 9 times out of 10 it goes in if you do that.

The more you over think it and try to dummy your body and throw your eyes to fool the keeper, the more chance that you'll mis-hit it.

About time their luck ran out. Possibly the worst EL final of all time quality wise. Cup runs are a magical thing, both those teams were on a fairytale journey that usually wouldn't happen.

Great to see the Scottish medias proclaimed best signing since Gazza missed the penalty.

A final that will be forgotten quite quickly.

Bit harsh on Frankfurt, they’ve been a decent club in Germany the last few years and they’ve had some tough ties to get here.

Glad to see Rangers lose purely because I’ve got a friend who supports them and I couldn’t bare his celebrations tonight if they won, but they’ve also done brilliantly to get to the final

Such a casual pen from Ramsey as well.

I wouldn't be showing my face in Glasgow again after the cup final if I were him.

He won't need to worry about that he'll be back in Turin in a week.

Yeah TBF who goes to Glasgow anyway.

Not like he'll be going there on holiday.

Ramsey will probably find a way to blame Ryan Shawcross for it.

Of course it had to be the worst ever Europa League Final for a Celtic fan, because it had Rangers in it

Anyway, I don't give a damn if it was the worst final ever (it wasn't) . Eintracht is a worthy winner (as would've been Rangers, too).

42 years after they won the cup for the first time. A club who eliminates Barcelona and West Ham and hasn't lost a single away match in the EL is a worthy winner. Fact!

I feel a bit sorry for the Rangers, though. Losing on penalties is hard to swallow for them but Eintracht Frankfurt had endured the same 3 years ago when losing the semi-final against Chelsea through penalty shootout.

First UEFA Cup/Europa League Final win of a Bundesliga club since 1997, 25 years of waiting are over. About time! (btw: Schalke won it in 1997 also on penalties :whistle( although back then it wasn't a final but 2 matches))

I predicted that it would be 1-1 going to penalties.
    Just predicted the wrong winner...

Ramsey generally puts pens down the middle, and he tends to take them pretty casually. Going into that shoot out he was 7/8 for penalties in his career, with his only miss coming 10 years ago in the Olympics.

Hoping he scores the winning penalty vs Scotland next month for a place in the World Cup.

Will hurt Rangers that they have to go through 2 rounds of qualifiers for the Champions league whilst Celtic get an automatic spot mainly thanks to their success in Europe!

It will be hardfor them to close the gap on Celtic again. Celtic already have a massive advantage over them, and just buy their way to success if they need to. That extra 30-40 million will juat increase that gap further.

The irony if that really happens  Then he better not set a foot on scottish soil anymore ;). First failing for Rangers in the EL final and then denying Scotland (if they win against Ukraine, that is ) a World Cup spot

Exactly. Rangers have way more done for the Scottish coefficient in UEFA's 5 years ranking than Celtic. And now to see that they profit from the direct CL place after they had to through the qualifiers is hard.

You predicted that a German club won't win a penalty shootout? (Yes, it happened before, see the mentioned Frankfurt vs Chelsea but normally "we" win these (although with Christopher Lenz it was only one German in the penalty shootout ;))

We get that spot because we won the league. Everyone knew it was up for grabs this season. They threw everything at us and we were simply better. :bye

Didn't watch the match last night but haven't stopped laughing since I saw the result.

Just for clarity. Celtic up until this season had more coefficient points than Rangers. This season has not came into play yet in the 5 year average, so that point isn't actually true.

We got it because we proved once again we are a better side.
