@Minty: Celtic were the better team in the league, there's no 2nd opinion here. I have no problems with Celtic, although HSV fans normally favour Rangers due to our fan friendship. But hey, this is not my "fight" what's happening in Scotland. I have enough to suffer with my own club (hopefully not today in our first match in the promotion playoffs back to Bundesliga 1) I can understand this
Aye, I know about Hamburg preferring Rangers in general and some fans follow both teams. I've no issues with HSV either, other than some of your fans behaving badly in Glasgow, in 2009 haha. But that's not a surprise, you get idiots at every club. I'm sure Werder Bremen securing promotion is annoying for you. Good luck in the playoffs.
We often have some Rangers fans here in the Volkspark to watch a Bundesliga match of HSV. And vice versa some HSV fans made the trip to Ibrox, too, occasionally. I always respect tradition in football and Celtic has a lot of it. So I have no problems with them btw: St.Pauli has a fan friendship with Celtic, afaik. Sorry to hear that. Wasn't me involved though . I know how to behave myself in a foreign country That's true. But unfortunately those few morons often spoil it for all and it's "the fans" in general Yes thx, 4 years in the 2nd tier is enough, imo. But we're the underdogs, past achievements don't count. They're the top tier club (although we have the bigger following overall) btt: Frankfurt finished only 11th in this Bundesliga season and now they're the 5th Bundesliga club of next season's Champions League, Fairytale season in Europe for them, not so in the domestic league and Cup, though. They're clearly one of the heaviest underdogs in the CL, being in Pot1 for the draw. Most clubs want to be in their group, I think
Congratulations to Eintracht Frankfurt. I'm happy that a German club, other than Bayern, have finally won another important European trophy. It took 25 years and it was getting so ridiculous seeing more and more people hating Bayern domestically, while cheering them on in Europe just to enable their European ambition. I want all German clubs to do well in Europe, unless they play us, of course. That would also allow them to get richer, and beat Bayern in the league, so that the Bundesliga playoff plans are scrapped once and for all. As for the final, it was a close game, and I got the feeling Eintracht created one or two more chances, although Rangers looked more comfortable in possession. Frankfurt's defence did a good job overall to allow Frankfurt that slight surplus in chances. Their penalty takers also showed nerves of steel. Fantastic by Borré, not allowing his previous equaliser to let him off the hook for that last penalty. He finished it perfectly. Tough luck for Rangers, with a threatening spell at the end of extra time and only one penalty foiled by the excellent Trapp.
