For me it stinks of PGMOL arrogance blinding them. Which we know is a big issue with the refs. I just cannot see why Attwell doing VAR on a Forest game is this huge conspiracy when he's done Everton, Sheffield United, and Burnley all season on the pitch? In the end the best result yesterday for Luton Town was a draw. They would be best off just removing the risk though I agree. But Attwell also refused to overturn a blatant penalty in Liverpool v City game, so seems like he just cowers to the senior refs - Oliver that day.
Probably why he gets on with our owner so well Saw Sky reporting on this earlier - we never said in our tweet that we did ask for the VAR official to be changed so I am not sure why this is being used as some sort of weapon against us. The process we took was to make the PGMOL aware of the situation with Attwell and then it was up to them to make a decision - which in line with all of their officials, they managed to get wrong
For what it's worth I've never subscribed to this 'biased referee' stuff, and it's been peddled by many fan groups down the years about various referees. The sad fact is the referees are shite, the whole refereeing organisation is unfit for purpose and the VAR that we were promised would eliminate these elementary mistakes every weekend has just served to highlight the errors. We now have a situation where when a referee makes a mistake the technology is used to show from 25 angles, in super slo-mo and over every media outlet just what a howler he's made.
Unfortunately VAR is too subjective to be perfect and if people were told it would be then that was wrong really .
Then why did we get two perfectly good goals disallowed at Burnley? Have Mc Allister given the most ridiculous red card at Bournemouth? Van Dijk soft red at Newcastle, extended ban because he argued about it? Luckily we won all three games, but still, poor decisons...this is before the Spurs, Arsenal and City games. All clubs, big and small...apart from Man City have been shafted this season, good and proper, some more than others.
I actually think only one of the penalty shouts was completely 100% blatant. The one Young went through the back of the Forest player when the Forest player was clean through. Should've been penalty and potential red card. The handball was too close nothing Young could do there imo some get given some don't and the other one you could make an argument for but it'd have been incredibly soft yeah there was slight contact but not enough to make player go to ground in that manner. Goes without saying Forest have still been shafted no question.
Yep completely irrelevant. Add to that it’s probably almost all Forest fans! You’re not getting sympathy from your fellow FF members, even though most of us thinks 1 of those penalty appeals was a very poor decision. However, we’ve all had them this season, and no other club has made accusations of bias/cheating. I hope yous get hammered for it so this s*** doesn’t set a precedent
If a manager said the same in a post match interview he'd get a hefty fine or a ban. Can't see Forest escaping without some sort of punishment. They've basically accused Stuart Atwell of being corrupt. Not sure what good they thought would come of it, but then they've made a string of bizarre decisions since promotion so it's maybe not that surprising.
And then the video officials add to the problem by refusing to correct obvious errors using these super slo-mo replays they see 50 times I can assure you that one thing I don't expect here is sympathy regarding anything at all There is nothing for us to particularly gain from this apart from us having the balls to call it out. Lots of clubs moan weekly but then never go any further and so the problem never goes away. One thing that is for sure, the FA, the Premier League and the PGMOL have been thoroughly embarrassed by THE tweet because this has gone global. We've basically said their "world beating" product is shit, which is basically what it is! As I've said before, it's either corruption or it's incredibly shit and whichever it is, it's simply not good enough from a product worth billions of pounds
Yes, but again that's the humans failing despite the technology. United had a very similar penalty against them at Wembley yesterday which was awarded, then checked by VAR then confirmed by VAR, they also had a similar penalty awarded for them, then checked by VAR and confirmed (away at Bournemouth), but then the Young incident at Woodison is declined. My opinion is I don't think any of them should have been penalties, they were all unintentional ball-to-hand incidents.
Absolute bollocks. Arsenal play Chelsea next. Let's say the referee is a City fan - and does the same thing Atwell did. I bet you there'd be the same outrage from Arsenal, especially if they'd mentioned beforehand their concern on who the referee supports. The statement and how it's worded is what will get us in trouble and probably a massive fine. But it's about time these incompetent pricks get called out.
Judging by Twitter and the media today, that tweet has worked to perfection. Sky and BBC shills Neville, Carragher, Shearer, Lineaker and Richards are getting pelters from the people for their defence of their masters. The PL's tweet about daring to question their referees has gone down a shit storm also. All football fans are fed up. I don't rate the owner, but he has the bollocks to take on this cartel and I'll gladly follow his cause even if it means more PL corruption.
The way the statement was worded reads exactly as if Marinakis himself wrote it. It's glorious sitting back and watching it unfold isn't it. Only one with any balls was Louis Saha, doubt he'll be back on sky anytime soon.
That was my initial thought but then I remembered you'd employed Cl*ttenburg. Marinakis probably got him to translate it and it still sounded amateur.
Didn’t he actually admit deciding to make decisions to suit a particular game which went against the rules?
