Normally I'd want to re-watch a final after winning it. But that was shite bar the result. The only part I'd choose to re-watch is the shootout. I'm not sure what it is with Chelsea and Liverpool that makes the games between them shit in comparison to what you would normally see from them. Still, as long as we ultimately keep winning the important ones, I won't complain too much.
Get in xxx Tense game after the first 10 minutes, lovely to see the team come through another final like that with a trophy win. ****ing legends.
Congrats to the Liverpool lot again. Getting quite fed up with this ‘unlucky’ notion. Or that penalties are ‘a toss up’. 7 defeats from 9 cup finals was it? This isn’t anything to do with luck, it’s mentality.
Congrats Liverpool, congrats Kloppo! Well done! The Reds in Red and the Blues in Yellow. Looked a bit like the 2013 Champions League Final at Wembley between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund btw: Before the match when Prince William met both teams before kick-off I thought: This guy is 20 years younger than me but at least I have still all my hairs
Today was a very good day. One hell of a tense game. Never easy. I'm quite happy to keep making these trips. Love Alisson hate bastards. That is some weird record v Chelsea in finals recently. 3 different keepers and all.
Not sure how you can put the last two cup finals down to mentality when we’ve taken a far superior side to penalties twice. Our team just isn’t that good. It’s not a mentality issue.
Every time a team loses a game it becomes about mentality and "bottling it". Chelsea have generally competed well but the reality is only one team can win a final, someone has to lose it at the end of the day. Liverpool have a great mentality and are a fantastic team but I don't think Chelsea losing means they lack the right attitude in these games. That said if this was Spurs the Chelsea lot would be sticking the boot in. 5 final defeats in 4 consecutive years, bottling c**ts
Took me around 45 mins to drag ' non footballing ' people from the comforts of pub on the river to a dingy small one that despite selling superb range of craft beers , cider / perries & real ales only had bottled lager & traditionally they bring the TV down for the Grand National & FA Cup & we were treated to utter dross with myself getting quite a lot of abuse for doing so . If Liverpool meet Chelsea again in any cup final , just flick a coin & save everyone from the boredom of 120+ mins .
Yup, like I said earlier, we seem to bring out the worst in each other. Hoping the CL final versus Real will be a lot more interesting.
Tbh I always have a smile on my face when I see that Tuchel lose a final or a deciding match. Can't help, was already so when he coached in Germany. Can't stand the guy. On the other side, losing two finals in a row through penalty shootout in a few weeks is hard to take for every coach...but again, it's Tuchel so I don't mind. And good to see that Jürgen Klopp has kind of reversed his "final curse" now. 2 finals over 120 minutes with no goals in regular time, though. I hope for Liverpool that they score a few in regular time in the CL final against Real.
I thought it was a decently entertaining game tbh. Good tactical battle with both teams having good chances.
I wouldn't go so far as saying I can't stand him, but I'm glad it's not just me. He genuinely gives me the creeps.
