There's no more significance to the design other than it reflects a traditional club crest. There's a fair amount of work to do to achieve that. Perhaps in time!

Update March 2016 So it's been a while, and we're not far from a move to new forum software. With that, I'd like to consider a logo re-work to keep it fresh. I like what we have, so it doesn't need to be a massive change - perhaps the addition of colour, change of perspective, addition on a typographic style logo alongside it - I'm not sure yet. Of course if anyone has anything completely original they want to throw down as well, we're always happy to look. Assume a light / white page background for the time being. Modern, square, clean website look and feel..
Just had a little play about on my lunch, have some crest ideas and one or two more style sketches that i will do tomorrow.
Nice one, I like both of these. They also are in keeping with the traditional forum colours of FF since I've been been here. Well done!
