Hamilton only needs to finish second in the next race. Got an awful feeling that it's going to be snatched from underneath him though!
Considering they are both likely to be front of grid in next race, any chance of Hamilton taking Rosberg out a la Prost/Senna?
Switched off before the end, worst Interlagos ever made worse by the double points rule. Hamilton still would have won without either the mistake in quali or before his 2nd stop.
Pretty boring race, tyre strategy was the only thing that gave it real life. Shame as Interlagos generally produces great races. I hope Hamilton takes minimal risks at Abu Dhabi. The track suits the Mercedes car and barring a mistake/unreliability in the car should be another 1-2. He can just sit behind Rosberg all race, pull clear of the Williams and happy days. Not that I think he'll make it that easy. Also big rumours that Bernie has told Force India, Lotus and Sauber that pretty much if they don't keep quiet they won't get any funding next season. Also that apparently Ferrari and Red Bull are the first teams to have been offered the chance to race three cars next season. I fear there won't be a positive outcome over the next couple of weeks/pre-season.
So he needs second. Should be comfortable for him. Let Rosberg bust a gut to snatch the win, sit behind him just gradually pulling away from the rest of the field and should be his. Sounds so simple doesn't it?? Fingers crossed. Let's just hope the double points rule doesn't decide it - would be a crap way to decide a season and should be scrapped for next year. Zero chance.
Lets just hope fate is in Hamilton's favour! Nice to see Massa get on the podium in front of his home fans.
Not yet confirmed by the powers that be, but some potentially good news to halt a lot of the negative press this week: Caterham F1 Team @CaterhamF1 We are delighted to announce that we will be racing in Abu Dhabi next week thanks to the support of the fans. THANK YOU #RefuelCaterhamF1
Its been suggested for a while now button will go into car racing rather than stay in F1, he seems quite relaxed about it all so I presume he's already got his job sorted for next season.
Double points are almost moot for this season as well, considering that the Mercedes pair will probably finish 1-2 and the only way Rosberg can win is if Hamilton retires really. Plus, Hamilton's only 17 ahead of Rosberg, which means a title fight for Abu Double even if there weren't any double points. I just hope that reliability doesn't make Rosberg win. Rosberg's in a no win position really, since any clawing his way back into the lead would be a hollow win and so would a Hamilton retirement. Really, his best hope is to see Hamilton spin out of the race or something, to get a credible victory. Even that would be tainted, since he's only in the title battle because of Hamilton having poor reliability over the season.
Depressing but not entirely unexpected rumours about Schumacher i.e in a wheelchair, paralysed, can't talk. Bianchi is out of his artificially induced coma and back in France but as expected still unconscious and most don't wake up from his type of injury. Again, I can only hope that on-track justice is done on Sunday and Hamilton ends up as WDC. It's been a season somewhat overshadowed by the aforementioned injuries.
So Kamui Kobayashi and Will Stevens will be Caterham's drivers this weekend. Was big rumours earlier in the week that Max Chilton would be the second driver.
