Same here mate, also the one around the corner in Lime Street, Aladins Den was it? And also the one in London Road. Got banned from Las Vegas so many times lol

We may know each other as I knew quite a few lads from the arcades.

As for Defender? Do you remember the "king" of the game? Carlos I think his name was? from Old Swan? The ****er used to put 10p in and would be playing the same game 6 hours later, unreal he was. If you were waiting to play and he was on the machine, you'd just give up and play something else. Sadly I heard a rumour he'd died a few years back, brilliant footballer he was too.

    Those were the days mate.

Does anyone miss physically going to a game shop, and rummaging through the used game section, looking for a new game to try? Does anyone still do it?

I normally buy mine online, either through PS store, or ordering physical disk. I do miss going for a game without knowing what it will be.

Yeah. Same with Blockbuster. Could enjoy a good hour in there finding films. We used to have a ridiculously big one in town.

    94-04 (9-19 yo)

-The Lion King (possibly my first videogame experience, not only the playing, but the hype of playing a game)
    -Pitfall Mayan Adventure (underrated)
    -Sonic 2
    -Age of Empires (I)
    -Quake (I)
    -Resident Evil 2
    -GoldenEye 64 (I didn't own a N64, but I played this with friends, memories...)
    -Delta Force (cult game)
    -Carmageddon 2
    -Fifa 99, Fifa 2000
    -NBA Live 2000
    -Sea Dogs (cult game)
    -Aliens vs Predator 2 (underrated)
    -Mafia
    -GTA Vice City
    -Jedi Outcast / Academy
    -Knights of the Old Republic
    -Call of Duty 1/UO/2
    -Battlefield 1942
    -SW Battlefront 1 / 2
    -Far Cry
-Resident Evil 4 (the infamous pc port)
    -Rome Total War
-Fifa 05, PES 6 (Ronaldinho made me a fan of pc football again)
    -GTA San Andreas
    -Medieval 2 Total War

Yes, basically a string of Win 95-98-XP PC classics and a couple of Mega-Drive titles. Looking back, it's funny how dated (close to unplayable) those titles are now; but they did their duty when it counted. I've actually played better games in 2005-2020, and certainly with better graphics/mechanics.

(I never owned the PSx, but I remember being bored while watching people play Metal Gear Solid and FF 7-8-9. Other PC games, considered classics, bored me to tears, Lemmings, Doom, Myst, Diablo, Tomb Raiders, Half-Life, Fallout, Deus Ex, Sims, System Shock 2, most LucasArts games).

I loved Streets of Rage. I had them on older consoles, but got them on the Megadrive classic bundle on PS3 again. I played them through with a mate of mine, while having a few beers. Can't beat old school couch co-op gaming.

Thought the game was great, but it took me a good 6 months to get through it.

Gutted we'll not be getting a GTA made specifically for this gen of console.

At least you could finish it, I gave up. Trudging around on that horse defeated me.

Just thought, I gave the ending away.... Oops! Being honest it was/is a breath taking game and very enjoyable so much depth and detail.

Never played GTA but may give a version a go on the PS4 as the prices are dropping, FTR, I bought RDR2 and Witcher3 both for under £20 (each though, total bargain).

It was annoying compared to how they did GTA V

Didnt you have to go back to your base in order to fast travel?

That is good value. If you can pick up GTA V on the cheap, that's also a great game, and I preferred it to RDR2. I played it on PS3 when it first came out, and at the time it was the most impressed I have been by a game. Really enjoyed how the story line worked and thought the characters were brill.

Not as depressing as the end of Red Dead Redemption 1 where you lose control of John and have to play on as Jack the Pretender. At least RDR2 builds you up to it.

I was never a real big fan of any of these games but picked them (RDR2 and witcher3) up through boredom and cheap, they were highly recommended and never once did I regret getting them, absolute quality games. Never played RDR1 and may never but possibly GTA V as they has Good feedback but i am no longer in that bored state.
