Premier League was quality tonight. Even Peter Wright won a few games against Humphries!

Nope, personally I can't fathom an ex rugby player moaning about being slightly cold.......I also don't agree with moron crowds whistling and booing when he plays, but he also facilitates it a bit with his demeanor.

I've met him twice and he was an entitled twat on both occasions. Nothing about Monday surprises me to be honest.

Rob Cross is a Hun apparently, getting booed relentlessly in Glasgow tonight. Didn't realise that Kent was a hotbed of Rangers support.

Littler and Humphries shining over the past few months seems to have lit a fire in MvG. Which would be great for the sport as he’s a joy to watch when in full swing

Why are some of the established pros decided to start making bullish statements about how they are going to play against a 17 year old and trying to bully him? MVG celebrates scraping past the same lad like he is winning the world champs as well. Can't wait till he hits his prime and smashes them all up every week:laugh: Then there's the other young lad coming through? The seniors circuit is going to be a bit crowded soon:cool:

I saw a Sport Bible thing with Michael Smith and Peter Wright yesterday and they were saying how they're getting fed up of being asked about Luke Littler all the time.

They were polite with it, but I get it. What Luke has done is great, but he's not won anything of note yet (of course he will do) and hitting 9-darters isn't the achievement it was 20 years ago, yet he's the only question being put to multiple World champions. Even the current World champion and World number 1 is being completely ignored outside of darts circles.

The Seniors has started well by the way, Richie Burnett looked brilliant earlier.

Already won a PDC tour title and a players one hasn't he?:hmmm A 9 darter is obviously the same achievement that it always was, but the standard is so much better...albeit, I know what you mean.

The PDC Tour title is the Player's one (Radek Szaganskiand Kim Huybrechts both won one last year).

He's also won a World Series event which is an exhibition.

The term "nothing of note" is a strong term mate:laugh: In other news, tonight,I played Mark Lawrence,( who has played in the PDC world vets and Modus last year) in our local league individual prelims. Best of three 701 legs. First leg I won bull up and started ok then he stuck in consecutive maximums:laugh: lost that leg, played well second leg with 140, 121, 100, 81 then some crap scores to lose 2-0.Always next year lol.

Is it really a strong term?

If Luke wins nothing more in his career (and I know that won't be the case but bear with me), then he will retire having won a PDC Youth World Championship, a Player's Championship event and a World Series event. Damon Heta has won each of the latter two and Keegan Brown has won the World Youth Championship. In the grand scheme of things, that is nothing of note at the moment, yet he is the only person being talked about.

Like I said, I understand why he's the big news story, only an idiot wouldn't, but I completely get why multiple major winners such as Peter Wright (2x World Champion, World Matchplay, UK Open and 2x European Champion), Luke Humphries (the actual World Champion and World Number 1, plus current Grand Prix and Grand Slam champion) and Michael Smith (1x World Champion, World Number 1 for all of 2023 and former Grand Slam champion) are fed up of being asked about him.

Let's look at the Player's Championship events in the media - Luke Littler won the first one, beating Ryan Searle in the final. The day after was the second (won by Gary Anderson) and yesterday was the third. The finalist in the second, Ryan Searle. Yesterday's winner - Ryan Searle. Barely anything has been mentioned about that. 3 ranking events since the World Championship and Ryan Searle has made the final of all 3 of them and won 1. Littler wins the first and it's on the BBC Sport home page - I've just had a look and there's nothing darts related on the home page today.

Come on mate he's 17 (just) Won two events with top class fields reached PDC world's final, was one dart from going 5-2 in final, won more in premier league than he has lost so far....and he's won nothing of note? Pro darters have gone their whole careers not achieving that! Player who beat him have to play top of their game. So yes, I consider the term to be strong lol. Searle is a great player and partially sighted, he gets the credit. My take on the grand scheme of things is that at only just turned 17 he has won those two events in a very short time and reached the world final on debut, is in the premier league and winning. It's remarkable frankly, but I see the naysayers lining up already knocking him, including jealous competitors. I know he will go on to win loads of titles, he is too good not to. Frankly, he is better than most of them consistently already. In fact, he may experience the same thing Taylor did, by being too dominant? Or maybe another of the youngsters will come to challenge him? A lot of the old pros days look numbered to me....and they know it frankly.

I already said I completely get why he's the news. It's entirely down to his age, and that is absolutely impressive, I'm not doing him down at all.

But you can't blame the established players for being pissed off when he's all any of the media want to talk about.

I get why it would annoy them but interest in darts is through the roof at the moment and that is in a very large part down to Littler. That's something that shouldn't be a bad thing - it's hardly like its going to end up being at the expense of those two. And even if it is, who cares? They've already won world titles. If it was still going on for like 6 months I would get it but think they should be able to stomach some questions on him lol.

Also agree with Arkwright - 'nothing of note' feels harsh. Most players would be absolutely thrilled with a PC, a 9 darter and a TV title (admittedly a soft one!) in their entire career let alone in his first month officially as a TC holder.

Yeah there’s definitely a balance to be struck with the coverage. It’s undeniable that Luke Littler has increased interest in the sport but with that comes a whole bunch of fans who don’t know who all the established players are and what they’re backgrounds and achievements are.

Reminds me a bit of the new breed of F1 fans who have become interested due to the dramatized drive to survive Netflix series. It has its benefits but they’ve got to find the line between not making every single thing about Littler.

It’s understandable. Humphries won the WDC after the greatest year of his life and all you ever heard or read about was the runner up

Good draw for Lukeman in the UK open. Wright v Bunting was a good match, although he’s not winning snakebite does seem to be picking up a little of late

Rob Cross has been very consistent the last 6 months or so
