Heta on a 126 average and 67 % on doubles atm vs Littler after 3 amazing legs and is behind! No idea who will win, but if they keep this up it will the the best match I've ever seen.
Spoke too soon about Cross.. absolutely useless performance against Evans Cracking game so far with Heta now 6-4 up
Well deserved win from Heta, hope he wins the lot. What a great match. That is what it takes to beat Littler, incredible. Heta proved to me he can be a world champion with that standard.
Performance of a lifetime from Heta. First ever singles semi-final in a major for him. Same with Ricky Evans.
VDB is a proper shithouser, hope he gets smashed in the final. Edit: Well VDB won the final but showed what a wanker he really is. I hope the crowd boo him every match he plays from now on. Weirdo.
He’s a strange bloke, Dimi. I think when he’s on song he’s superb viewing - his action is glorious. But yeah, painfully stop-start there. I actually think he does it for his own benefit rather than to put off opponents though.
Yeah he’s really not done himself any favours there. It’s clearly worked for VdB tonight but I’d rather be magnanimous in defeat like Humphries was than win like that
Humphries played very well tonight. Great match against Cross in particular. Gerwyn Price must be glad Peter Wright is in poor form. His own poor form seems to be going under the radar somewhat
Littler and Cross just had a corker of a match in the Belgian open final. Littler hits a 9 darter to go 6-5 up, Cross takes it back to 7-6 and Littler then goes on to win 8-7. Brilliant match and glad to see him get that first European tour win
Sky is the limit, already comfortably a top 4 player in all but rankings. Incredible how easy he makes it look. No doubt more "wisdom" from MVG inbound? Funny though when Cross said the 9 darter was "flawless"....no shit Rob?
That was a hell of a final. 121 to go 7-6 up and I thought Cross had it but fair f*ck Littler is insane
Pietreczko kicked off because of Littler's board management apparently? Thought he played pretty well himself, but Littler did nothing wrong. He likes to travel around the board setting up his finishes, and most of the time he does it brilliantly. Don't think it's arrogance at all, he just plays the game differently, and when Nicholson said he kind of plays it like a video game, he is not far from the mark.
How much in MVG's head is Littler, when the lad just misses double 12 for the 144 finish (and what would have been his 4th perfect leg this year), that ,MVG although he wasn't on a finish ,went for a 144 and finished it on double 12 to "show" Littler how it was done? Record for 9 dart legs is held by MVG who has done 4 twice in a calendar year....Luke Littler has months and months to get more and smash the record. MVG obviously has been thinking about it a lot......As it was, Littler didn't care, and went on to smash MVG with a 114 average
I think you're reading far too much into it. Despite coming across as a right bellend at times on the oche, MVG is also a bloody good laugh and has a great sense of humour. He knew Luke was going to win the leg so when he missed the D12 for the 9, MVG jokingly hit it as a "that's what you should have done". Both were laughing about it when Luke walked up to hit the winning double. I'm no fan of MVG at all, but having seen him in a couple of exhibitions, he's one of the biggest laughs on the circuit. My mate beat him once because MVG was only allowed to count the trebles he hit until he got to a finish.
Nope I'm not, he is in fact a jealous bellend. Not just with Littler either. The other players are not scared of MVG now. He is great when he is winning and not under the cosh, but I'm afraid he doesn't like it up him. There's no need to be a bellend period. If it looks and behaves like a bellend...it's probably a bellend. If he had done the same to Anderson or quite a few other senior pros, they wouldn't have seen a joke in it IMO.
What is he jealous of? He's won every TV event multiple times. He's one of the greatest players of all time, arguably the most naturally talented. He was about to lose the game (was still on 300 odd) when Luke missed the D12, he jokingly hit 144 as a bit of fun in an event that is a glorified exhibition. You really are reading too much into it.
Obviously a mr potato head fanboy, If he wasn't being a tool, he would have set his possible next turn up properly. I'll leave it there. He is jealous of the attention other players are getting, especially Littler, who is "arguably" the most naturally talented player I have ever seen at 17. Taylor won everything and more than MVG, but he managed to be jealous tool at the end of his career as well.
