Nothing to do with his team losing in the 97th minute ?! 'Standard is shocking' - County boss after defeat
Jeez the atmosphere in scotland is a million times better than in England. The scenes before the match looked more like a south american game. The police would arrest them all if it was england lol.
I do notice some teams have a little ultra section and there is Celtic and Rangefs for a big game but the police are so worried about fan behaviour they ban away fans from the Old firm matches.
Nah that's not why there aren't currently away fans in Glasgow derby matches. It's because Sevco reduced our allocation because they couldn't handle us winning there all the time, and because they needed the extra Season Ticket money. Once they reduced our allocation, we responded in kind as you'd expect. Now we're refusing to take the smaller allocation because of safety concerns, which is understandable when you're in a tiny corner and their fans are throwing bottles and other crap at you for 90 minutes.
Very true. It's interesting that now I've read many times of English fans that now travel to Scottish matches for the atmosphere, they used to go to Germany etc..., so there's fans here that want to experience the atmosphere but understand that the clubs and the majority of fans in England don't care so they have to travel elsewhere.
A lot to do with ticket prices as well, the "average" fan can't afford EPL prices. A few years back I had a "football holiday" in London and went to a load of different stadiums, including White Hart Lane, Upton Park, Craven Cottage and Selhurst Park - by far the best atmosphere at any ground I visited was Brentford's old Griffin Park, think they were in League 1 or 2 at the time, they were playing Luton and fans never stopped singing for the entire 90 minutes.
But the reasons I've read of why they go to Scotland wasn't because of price, it was because the atmosphere in England was so bad and what they enjoyed about going to matches was the atmosphere so they travel to various places to experience it. This was always to Germany, France, Holland, Italy etc...But over the past few years Scotland has become a destination especially the derby games up there. Its pretty hard to get tickets but everyone I have read about said its amazing.
A moment of real quality in what was, otherwise, a really poor game. One couldn't help think Derek Adams had a point watching it. I went to an Edinburgh derby at Easter Road a few years ago and loved the atmosphere in the place. An Old Firm derby would be firmly on my list of games to go to if I could ever get a ticket.
Ross County signed Teddy Jenks from Forest Green Rovers midweek , wonder if he'll debut away at Celtic today ? I find it strange how a Scottish Premier League team will source a player from the English Division 2 who may well be a conference team next season & this happens quite a lot .
