I'd say this is actually him flying a kite to see if people call him a total hypocrite before his big announcement of his own deal.

Rahm voted with his feet after the PGA dropped them all in it. Mcilroy was the flag bearer shouting how evil this was so if he takes the money then he's going straight into the same camp as a Henderson.

Most players won't get savaged for taking the deal and killing the sport but the big mouth who's stood up and shouted from the roof tops but then does a u turn will certainly attract a lot of abuse.

I note Norman has now made a turning point statement on mcilroy as well so this all seems staged to me.

I don't hate on LIV at all but if Rory goes to LIV after his antics since it's announcement I will be done with him.

Side note, I’m not enamoured with LIV and would rather watch the PGA, so will admit some bias here.

But surely there’s something to say that LIV having a 58 and 59 in its first two and a bit years suggests an easier course set up than is necessary for these lot lol

I think that's exactly what it is. The pin selections seem quite easy when I've watched but I've got to admit, I don't really follow LIV golf atm and only really follow PGA/DPWorld pages and I don't see a lot of LIV coverage on sky.

I think LIV golf need to change their format to conform so their players can earn world ranking points before I'll pay much notice tbh but regardless, a 59 at any 18 hole course is very very impressive. I couldn't even do that on a par 3 course tbh

Sky Sports Mix are showing atm ' Live Ladies European Tour Golf ' from Kenya :confused

Bit weird how it's from Kenya , there's also an Indian woman playing , I'd have thought she'd have been on the Asian Tour where some of the best World Golfers hail from ( Korea , China , Thailand )

Fantastic course though , there's Zebra & Tope ( probably spelt wrong ) but still Lion dinner wandering about :D

Rory is such a frustrating golfer to follow. With the way he can play he should be winning the top tournaments regularly but his shot selection at times is so poor.

Do you mean that he can drive the ball a little further than most? That's the only difference I see between himself and other players. People keep saying he's the most talented of the lot but what does that mean exactly. They all look like they pretty much hit the ball with the same technique. I do notice some differences in a few players but that's only if they have a strange looking way of hitting it compared to the rest. For me it's just mcilroy isn't hitting it close enough to the hole because his putting isn't good enough for the distances he leaves it. Also I'm fairly convinced the difference between a average good and great round is how good of a sleep they get. It might explain why a guy is hitting straight shots one day and wayward the next

Great opening round from Willet but Bryson is flying.

Mixed resulta so far for my pick. Willet is leading the chasing pack, but Matsuyama is probably already out (currently 9 behind).

Also, again McIlroy doesn't turn up foe a major. I've given up seeing him win another one at this point.

Don’t think Adrian Meronk enjoyed his Masters .

    +14.

Wasn’t he the guy who was a bit unlucky to miss out on the Ryder cup last year ?

Can anybody explain why a golfer who has won and played very well for part of their careers suddenly be alot worse? I mean just do what you were doing when you were winning. I know it's not that simple and there is an explanation but I'm lost. It's the strangest sport really. One day you are hitting the ball straight down the fairway the next you are hitting it left and right. One day you are pitching on the green or close to the hole the next you can barely hit a green. So many golfers like mcilroy and spieth looked unstoppable and then they just suddenly become average or worse nearly every week.
