What a masterclass from Scheffler. Just too good and the chasing pack all let the pressure get to them. All of them carding double bogies.
You have cheek discussing golf ‘Ooh Rory’s shit at Augusta’ he’s been top ten 7 times you gimp ‘Ooh Tiger went 10 over. I’m better than that!’ you couldn’t even sneeze at Augusta better than him you prick Now f*ck off
Scheffler is absolutely sensational but Ludvig Aberg is ridiculously good. Comfortable second in a major and Augusta debut is insane.
I never said I was better than tiger but I’ll tell you something, even on my worst day, I’d smash your head 300 yards down the fairway you utter c*nt. Now **** off. Ps, look forward to playing with you in the summer my mate. Xx
Ok average is a bit much but compared to the scores he was hitting over a decade ago it is. Its not just majors either. For his talent as they say he should be winning more than one or 2 tournaments a year. Anyway what is the answer to my question. Why is it such a frustrating strange sport? Why can't players just do what they were doing when winning? I know it's such a precision sport but it's kinda ridiculous how bad or good they can be from day to day
Firstly, as much as I think Tiger is the goat the field is much more stacked with good players now than it’s ever been imo. So the wins are shared about more. As for falling off. Rory has decided to go down the route of hitting it very long and as good as it is when he’s on it, when he’s not it’s horrible. Same as Bryson. Only takes a few MM to be out on part of your swing and it’s bad. That’s why I admire tiger so much. You could overlay his swing for about 10 years and every single time it was near exactly the same.
He basically admitted changing his view on LIV the other month too which kind of suggested he’d fancy it . EDIT: Although the Mail claim it’s not true ..
No doubt the field is more stacked but woods was hitting the same low scores the winners are nowadays and its not a sport where others directly affect your game. So low scores back then are the same as low ones now. But I suppose there is more pressure because more players are always in and around your score most of the time. As for the mcilroy thing it's not just his driving because his iron play is the real problem. And what about the likes of spieth and Justin Thomas. I'm not sure if they are trying to hit new shots. They just suddenly became alot worse after looking unbeatable at one stage. And it's many golfers really. A player wins a major and a few tournaments and then just completely loses form for a few years as if he's forgotten how to hit the ball the exact way he was hitting it. I'd just like to know the science behind that phenomenon. It's a strange game in that sense
They have changed their swings and forgotten how to do what they were doing when they were at their peak. The golf swing is so technical - body changes, injuries, age etc can all impact your ability to nail that repetitiveness you need. McIlroy adjusted his swing to bring more power and length off the tee, but that swing affects his iron play as he comes in at a different angle at impact. Every single change you make in a golf swing impacts a different part of the game too. For me, what he should have focused on was 100 yards and in like Johnson did a few years ago. His driving was never an issue so it was the wrong choice to chase extra yardage over that because his short game isn't good enough to recover how bad his 'off' days are in terms of swinging.
Rory seems to put in excellent performances before a major but then doesn’t go well there . Wells Fargo Championship: Rory McIlroy storms to victory
