Thierry Henry has said we need 4 new players in a holding mid fielder, centre back, goal keeper and striker.

Honestly completely agree was, already thinking it before he said it.

Woijech is a bit of a liability so i feel we need to replace him and Ospina looks decent but im not sure how good he really is yet, not to say i would mind him staying #1 but for sure i want a new keeper in to replace Woijech. Id love Cech but honestly Chelsea wouldnt let him go to us.

With Flamini moving on, Arteta with a year left on his deal if feel we need another holding mid fielder. Coquelin has been superb and has earned himself a starting position for next season imo so who do we go for ? someone as quality as Schneiderlin ? not sure if it was be fair to have him or Coquelin potentially sitting on the bench most of the time, then again injuries happen and we may need 2 quality players in that position.

i still feel we need a new centre half as i dont trust Mertesacker, ever since he has won the world cup he seems disinterested and no longer seems to be trying, not as bad as he was at the start of the season by any means but even then he isnt the greatest of defenders and he isnt getting better as he ages. Who could we go for ? a cheeky bid for Hummels maybe ? i feel after dortmunds season it could be a fire sale.

Last position is striker, Giroud is a great striker but he isnt world class imo because he doesnt do it in the big games. Not to mention the way i see it is if Giroud gets injured we are f***ed because Welbeck for me is just a defender up front. Wenger doesnt seem to want to play Walcott up front either although in the few games he has ive been impressed with him. As a great realistic signing id like us to sign Lacazette who is having an amazing season in ligue 1.

if we was to sign, cech, hummels, schneiderlin and lacazette while not losing any key players i believe we would win the league. Although i dont think Cech is a realistic target out of the four i do think the other three are realistic enough for us to get a hold of.

if we make signings in those postions id like us to offload: Flamini and Woijech, id probably keep Mertesacker and Arteta around for 1 last season just to fill out the squad but if we need to make room for wages id look to them to offload. Other than that im happy with all the other players and hope we can push onto the title :)

No chance we make the necessary signings. The time to have won the league was this season & last. With Chavs & United cracking on it would take something really special from Wenger to win it next year & he just doesn't have it in him imo.

Coquelin has been good, but Arsenal really need to go for Schneiderlin. As well as Cech and maybe Lacazette, once this happens, I feel you could mount a challenge.

I'd prefer Kondogbia to Schneiderlin but given that I think we'll get neither I'll be chuffed with either signing if they were to happen.

yeah it's so annoying, you can't believe most of the rumours, & the ones you want to be true the most are most likely shite.

Gee this forum has died in the arse, hasn't it?

Cech will be the first decent keeper Wenger has signed since Lehmann.

Should do wonders for Szczesny too. A model professional who's won countless trophies and years of top flight experience to get his head right and help mould him into the top class 'keeper he's threatened to turn in to over the years.

Do you think Szczesny will stay now?

Also, Ospina. You can't have three GK's like that at the club.

Dam, the one thing you buggers have been missing for the last decade and it's probably cost you a title or two. Now you have a quality keeper, grab yourselves a class striker and you'll be competing this season that's for sure.

strong Benzema rumours, looking like our top priority now.

I personally dont think much of Benzema but we do need another striker

Could see it if Real got a striker like Ibrahimovic.

The Mail and The Mirror have both linked us with Riechedly Bazoer. He's a young Dutch player who looks like the typical big, strong but very technically proficient centre-midfielder, i.e Vieira, Pogba, Toure etc etc.

The link makes sense after we released Diaby in the summer, we haven't really got that kind of central midfielder.

utter tosh as far as I'm concerned , but it's 'out there' so it seems only fair I post the link.

    Arsenal transfer news and rumours
We've done it. We've finally jumped the shark.
Just when you thought the British press couldn't get any more sensational, we've gone and suggested Lionel Messi could move to Arsenal this summer.
The story goes like this: according to The Daily Star, Messi is unhappy in Spain after falling foul of the tax authorities.
Messi and his father are the subject of a probe into an alleged £3m tax fraud, and the case could see young Lionel have to appear in court.

As a consqeuence of this, Messi wishes to swap La Liga for the Premier League, with Arsenal reportedly his favoured destination.
The 'only' slight stumbling block is the player's wages - an eye-watering £600,000-a week - which would probably send the notoriously frugal Arsene Wenger into meltdown.

    Of course it's rubbish.

We've been linked with Jorginho and Batshuayi.

£600k a week. That's £30 million a year just in wages, incredible. I think he'd struggle in England initially. Totally different game. He wouldnt be scoring 50 a season.

It's laughable that Messi is even being brought up. There's no way he'd come here, unfortunately, even if we could afford him.
