Are you using the newbie approach as a defence? As @Hashtag55 has said you’ve mentioned it a few times already.

Perhaps it’s naivety or perhaps it’s trying to push the narrative that you’re new so you can get away with things. Either way, I don’t like how you’re pushing for my lynch with it being the first day.

I appreciate what you’re saying about a lynch tends to get more information leading in to the next day phase, but equally it can play in to scums hands.

 

Newbie here, experienced enough at Mafia so to a certain extent i'll be relying on others for "play styles" tells if that makes sense.

 

With numbers advantage early on, it's where it can be played. Ever play made can play into scums hands, it's the game afterall.

My current feelings say those that have voted for you are probably town.

To an extent but regardless, I've seen you make similar posts towards players in previous games (myself included) so I felt fine with you pushing Josh on it.

Your interactions made me think earlier that the dynamic between you was either town/town or town/scum but something about the reciprocal votes feels a little off. It's day one and maybe I'm reading too much in to it but something in this vote feels a little forced.

 

On my usual recheck I have to say that its all very interesting and I'm open minded on what it all might mean in the grand scheme of things.

I think just rereading both these posts for the town is helpful.

You’ve said you’re new to playing here, but not new to the game in general. Can I get an overview of how much you’ve played before and what kind of roles those games used?

I understand games here can sometimes have a few unique roles but hammering the ‘new player’ thing so hard when you’ve played mafia before seems strange to me.

To me, it seems a wishywashy way of either a new player being able to explain away coached plays later on or someone hoping to explain away scummy plays as a newbie mistake. Either way I’d like a solid handle of how much you’ve played before.

Can't remember how many tbh, it's enough to know how much of a bastard some roles delpoyed can be, enough to know there's a host of ways roles can be interlinked, enough to know that sometimes you need to not all pile onto something and look at the bigger picture, and certainly enough to know when it's a players first time ina new place, you need some guidance on how people tend to play to seek gaps or information that may be obvious to others but not to the new guy.

So yeah i'm going to play the new guy bit for the first day or two until I can start to get a feel on how people go about their business.
