Nah, I'd prefer a manager able to react when a match isn't going right. ;)

Already reading speculative reports of Klopp replacing Ancelotti when he leaves Real. I really can't see Klopp managing such a vile outfit. I hope it doesn't happen.

Can't blame him. He's a very intense manager, imagine he works his absolute socks off every day, in first at the training ground and out last. You're always going to reach burnout and need a break if you're like him. Can see Pep doing the same in a couple years as he's similar. Arteta too in a four or five.

Darren Farley would have to swap from Arteta to Alonso.

Need Pep to leave next and the league might open up for a few years.

If anything I think this could prompt him to staying longer than he originally planned. Basically means he has the league to himself for a few years as Klopp was the only real challenge to a relentless collection of asterisks.

I dunno, I think the opposite tbh. Think this might cause him to call it quits at City at the end of his deal next season.

I don't get the impression he wants to just keep going and going and the only manager that can compare to him going kinda takes the sting out of it all you'd think. Add in all the shit going on with City and the charges and feels like a perfect time for him to plan to step away too.

Firstly and most importantly, one hopes there are no nasty medical things round the corner for Mr Klopp or those around him. The words and timing feel a bit off but hopefully it's much more likely that he looks at people like Ferguson, Wenger and Hodgson still working well into their 70s and thinking 'that's not me'.

Brilliant manager, a fine chapter of the history of English football and by all accounts a damn decent man too.

Which is precisely why Klopp is easily the better manager of the two.

Absolutely agree. I've talked about Guardiola's limitations as a manager more than once on here.

Timing does feel odd. Just seen a Tweet from someone saying they don't get why he doesn't have one last go at the Champions League given his tremendous record in that competition.

Stepping away with a title would be huge (no guarantee at all) but to end your Liverpool career outside the Champions League is strange.

Mate messaged me an hour back saying check the news. Just seen it in last few minutes. Was not expecting that. Absolutely stunned as can imagine 99.9999 % of everyone was.

Absolutely transformed the club and given us a brand of football hadn't see before.

Wish the bearded chap all the best for the future.

The pressures of running a top team maybe getting to him and he needs to look after his health and have a break for a while.

    Thanks for the memories Jurgen.

He's still there, Taffy, for a few months and will work hard (he's German ;) ) to bring LFC another Premier League Title.

Ljinders confirmed going suggests they have to surely have someone lined up. Would be utterly insane to not have things planned out to hit the ground running in the Summer with a new Sporting Director also arriving. Ljinders would have been considered no doubt.

Xabi Alonso and Michael Edwards. :pray

Can we move this to the Liverpool sub-forum now please?

    Cheers.

It's gotta be to do with the German National team surely? I read that all the backroom staff are going too which seems strange and I reckon he will do good as the next German manager.

I would imagine Gerrard is now licking his lips and rubbing his hands in expectations but that would be Liverpool's biggest mistake if they grabbed him, he may have won the title with my Rangers here in Scotland but then did a runner when the Villa job came up for grabs and was shite and got the bullet.

Souness was great with Rangers winning the lot and then went to Liverpool and tried and change things and he ended up out of the door.
