To be fair, County do have one of the biggest budgets in league 2 (according to Big Alan Hardy). Bankrolled into the conference :ashamed

Yeah the novelty of the Conference soon wears off. I always felt any season not promoted from it was like a relegation in the EFL, just utterly depressing.

That said, I did enjoy some parts of it - clubs like Dartford, Alfreton, Nuneaton etc were charming grounds in their own little ways with some great fans. But being beaten at home by teams with double figure attendances does wear thin after a while.

You'll be alright, I think you have enough to get out of trouble and it's just your bad form from the first part of the season that has ruined you, but don't worry because usually the two teams that go down are utter dreadful.

I can see it being Morecambe who go down with Notts County.

    @AlStag @88BenM

    How’s Ajose getting on?

One of the most lazy and disinterested players I’ve ever seen pull on a Charlton shirt. His finishing is a bit naff aswell, only seems to score for Swindon.

Haven’t seen him score much? He’s done here so should really be playing out of his skin for contract somewhere else.

The effort is there, you can tell he is playing for a contract and looks interested throughout the game, just nothing is coming off for him at the moment goals wise. He’s had a few moments of class, mainly assists and that extra quality in the final third he provides we have been missing.

It is no coincidence since we have added Jorge Grant and Ajose to our front 3 we have scored 3 goals in 3 separate games.

I went to both of the Charlton games this season and he never stood out in those, I’m not sure I would give him a contract if we went up.

Yeah, I think L2 is about his ceiling now.

It’s a shame that it’s not worked out here for him, remember being really excited when we signed him after that season he had with Swindon.

Just don’t know what it is, Lee Bowyer said when he left to join you that he’s a good bloke, never moans etc but yet he’s been out of favour with three separate managers and Bury fans had complaints about his attitude and effort when he was there on loan so it’s not just us.

Nicky Ajose played for us a few seasons ago but didn't do himself any favours - can't understand why so many clubs are willing to give him contracts - now Karim Ahearn Grant was totally different from the day he started to play on loan he was a class apart - a year ago playing for Crawley now in the Premier for Huddersfield - wish we could have signed him permanently

Grant is a funny one. Was dreadful for us for several years, had a decent spells in league two. Had half a good year in L1 and buggers off.

Grant does have real potential tbf, but can’t see him being anymore than a L1/bottom half championship striker.

    Very depressed with our club.

But Newport beat Middlesbrough in the FA Cup who are in The Championship, so that means Newport are better than anyone who is in L1 and L2. lol

We only lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace in the Cup, Palace beat Man City away in the league, so really we should be the Champions of England.

Watched the Cambridge V Vale today.

Absolutely shocking display by us. It will be interesting at least, going to new grounds next season in non league.

Good first prediction. We lost 1-0 and from the sounds of it never really got going. Danny Rose picked up a nasty injury apparently. Flitcroft said the pitch and ref were not good but obviously can't comment as wasn't there. Refs and pitches are usually not as disastrous as made out and there are usually areas in own performance that can be worked on.
