Surprised that no one has posted this yet. As a neutral, I'm thinking Swindon is the most likely, though these play-offs are the closest in terms of how good the teams are.
Anybody's guess really, although mentally Northampton must be drained after the heroics of what Rovers did to their automatic hopes.. Fancy Port Vale on the quiet..
Very difficult to predict. Few points difference and all the semi-finalist have won and lost against their opponents.
Our results at the ‘new’ Wembley 0-1 (Millwall) 0-2 (Chesterfield) 0-4 (Preston) So, if we do get there - we’ll lose 0-8.
Yeah it's extremely even. All the teams have had good and bad results at times of the season, and most of the teams have had periods where they've looked likely for a top 3 place before having a bad run and blowing it. Northampton will be the sorest after doing everything right but being done by a freak result from Bristol Rovers against a basket case club. But even Port Vale will be licking their wounds after losing 3 games in a row at the end to blow automatic promotion after being in prime position. Just one win from those 3 will have done it so that's likely to still be on their minds. Although winning at Exeter to secure the playoffs was very ballsy and might have reset them mentally. The playoffs will feel like an achievement again now rather than a consolation prize. Hard to pick one but just got a feeling about Swindon.
I hope Northampton do it, dogshit away day. If it isn't them then hopefully Swindon. I think it'll be Mansfield though.
Surely it’s one of Swindon or Northampton to go up as Port Vale and Mansfield have to be the biggest League 2 bottle jobs of all time and are both destined to be in it forever. Every season one of them or sometimes both of them look sure for promotion and they both always find a way to **** it up, just like in the penultimate games for both of them again this season.
A team thrown together 2 weeks before the season started, a club staring into the abyss with no owner, no wages, no staff and 6 contracted players. A club under a strict embargo that saw the other two clubs under the same restrictions relegated, sneaking into the play offs at the death on the back of 4 consecutive wins... It's just written isn't it? One of those great stories that football throws up from time to time. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
No. It’s one of those great fairytale, feel good stories which gives everyone a swerve ending as the main character falls at the final hurdle & dies… As is the way with Swindon.
Mansfield 2-0 up against Northampton. Just had that inevitable feel about it after the ridiculous goal difference swing on the final day.
Game of 2 halves at Field Mill last night . Shame Agent Kanu didn't bang in an own goal but Wobblers looked like they had 10 men whilst he was on the pitch so kind of job done . Other than short highlights I've not watched much of League 2 football this season but was surprised the amount of journeymen The Stags had in their team & it pains me to say Wobblers number 24 was best player on the pitch . Looking forward to watching Swindon in 30 mins , play football the right way , so good luck for today , but I hope the winner of the other tie get promotion , it's already a South West takeover in League 1 , another would be crap.
