Clownshoe Last time I looked my DOB is on my FF profile, so what gave you that idea? Tell me about it. With a £650 excess there's essentially no point having insurance unless you write the whole thing off. A guy I was speaking to about this over the weekend said the only quotes he's been getting that have been even close to reasonable included excess payments that were 2 or 3 times the price of his motor
Does anyone know where you can get loads of practice at the hazard perception? Got my theory test a week on Thursday.
You can't do a massive amount, but there's some practice on here http://www.theory-test.co.uk/asp/hazard_perception_info.asp
You're considered a much bigger risk when you've passed your test for a few reasons. - Can drive on your own. - Increased confidence often means increased speed. - You will almost certainly drive more.
I need to learn to drive, not a problem at the moment as work is commutable. Do wish I had done it after I left uni, I put the money aside and everything when I was working at uni but never got round to it. Who can recommend a good (cheap) company to learn with? £22+ an hour these days, crikey.
First lesson on Monday Dreading it tbh. Just getting into it, the clutch - changing gears, reversing into small spaces, awareness of surroundings Maybe I should go some reading up first - or is that over thinking it?
From personal experience, just stay calm and listen to your instructor. Staying calm is highly important, probably the most important thing. And the instructor will ease you into the process. Clutch+gears aren't hard, just need practise and reversing and parking was easier than I thought it would be. Remember, don't fret and you're set (sorry for the rubbish rhyme).
Thanks a lot mate I was fine up until I found out the first lesson since then it's like sh1t - it's happening. Sure I will be here a lot telling all about how it goes, just don't want to make too much of a deal out of it
I got my license today. Gave a 'drivers test' which meant I had to reverse my car out of parking, turn one corner and stop. That was it.
At least I went in for the test. Most people just pay 2000 bucks and bypass the test altogether. Not that the test makes a lot of difference.
