I’d say Alonso is a great.

Had to pick Gary Mac due to him having the privilege of wearing the fox on his chest.
    Top bloke too

But it's not about Leicester so I'll go with Redknapp and Murphy.

Not for us, he was just beginning to hit the heights in his final season then buggered off to Real Madrid.

He's no Redknapp, that's for sure.

I could never stand Redknapp as a player - when he was actually fit, which wasn't often!

He is for me personally, sometimes you don’t need longevity.

Gerrard and Alonso all day. Gerrard carried Liverpool for years. Alonso was a luxury player and there was a reason why Real Madrid came calling.

    No contest.

If Longevity is a key factor VVD and Allison would miss out.

Alonso played 210 games for LFC. I don't get the he didn't peak until the end of his time at LFC, when Alonso is discussed. They had one of their best spells in PL whilst he was there. Never outside top 5 and contributed to 3 of their best Premier League campaigns. One of the few players of LFC I have any time for to be honest.

It's Alonso and Gerrard no contest, if we're talking purely talent and ability.

Saltire is too biased about Henderson so needs to knock Alonso down so he can pick Henderson.

Fair point but ability is what I'm basing my picks on personally.

I can't justify leaving Xabi out when he was arguably our best out and out CM.

That's fair, and he comes a very close third for me behind Didi. I was probably unfair suggesting placing him top 2 comes across as judging him post-LFC as well as his time at the club.
