I've never had an issue with my laptop for playing PC games.

It really won't. Fixed spec on consoles, developers have a couple of specs to develop for. For example the Series S and Series X moving forward in terms of Xbox. Where as PCs have thousands of different CPU/GPU/memory size configs to cater for. This is why consoles towards the end of their lifespan have games that look like something no one would have thought possible on release date. Old graphics cards on PCs are left behind.

I guess we need a definition of doing a job. By that logic, I've got a PC in the loft I built in 2003 with 1gb of memory, a Pentium 4 and a FX5900 that can still do a job. Assuming that job is running old games that you'll struggle to get to work on anything newer than XP.

In terms of life span, consoles are a much better bet if graphical quality and speed is the number one priority. Compare how well recent games run on a PS4 to how recent PC games run on a 2013 gaming rig as an example.

Just checked out the value of Take 2. An absolute pittance in comparison to this. If Microsoft end up buying them and get their hands on GTA that would be a worry and a large chunk of casual and serious gamers.

Still can't find a PS5 or XBX/S anywhere in Japan to save my life, so I am not worried too much. My original plan was to get the PS5 and later down the line perhaps get a cheap XBX if the gamepass library warranted it. Nothing has changed in that regards as I don't play COD or Warcraft.

You can't find a PS5 in Japan? Not a good look for Sony

They get snapped up quickly by scalpers and people with a genuine interest. Gamers in Japan are well aware Sony is focusing on Europe and America these days. Nintendo will always be king here because of the exclusives, particularly for children, so Sony are more concerned about outselling Xbox abroad.

Edit: I should also add I can find a PS5 here, but I am not paying 50% extra on RRP for a second hand one

Looks like Sony are determined to join in, albeit on a comparatively minor scale. They have purchased Bungie.

Furious Microsoft boss says confidence in UK 'severely shaken'

Microsoft throwing a proper hissy fit. It's all a bit pathetic really, insulting the UK like a spoilt child that hasn't gotten its own way.

"The report's conclusions are a disservice to UK citizens, who face increasingly dire economic prospects. We will reassess our growth plans for the UK. Global innovators large and small will take note that - despite all its rhetoric - the UK is clearly closed for business.

    *insert crying baby emoji here.
