He’s absolutely huge for MW. Rockhold was pretty big but he’d dwarf him. I’ve no idea how he makes the limit jiri or hill would be absolute fireworks. I think jiri would look to take it to the ground quick, where hill will probably have to stand with him. Who knows what his defensive wrestling like, no one’s seen it in the ufc. I think he’ll pick up the LHW belt at some point
Really looking forward to tomorrow. I think Cejudo wins, and Aljamains weight cut looked rough as **** btw. Co main is class. And fair play to both of them stepping up with barely a month's notice. Whoever wins definitely deserves a title shot in my eyes. Either way they've gained plenty of fans already.
I’ve no real interest in the main event tbh. Cejudo gets a title shot straight out of retirement and I’m just not a fan of Sterling. He beat yan fairly in the rematch but he took a dive in their first fight, when no doubt he could’ve carried on, because the fight was slipping away. I’ve got no respect for that and thankfully it’s rare in combat sports. If cejudo wins he’ll probably be a diva, retire, unretire and log jam the division so I hope aljo wins, but I don’t really care The co main does look good and I think it’ll be a tale of 2 half with burns possibly fading and belal taking it late maybe? Whoever wins absolutely deserves a shot instead of Covington. What a joke that you can turn down fight after fight and wait out a title shot if you’re the bosses mate. Ironically leon edwards was threatened with being stripped of his ranking for not being active yet he was accepting fights that were falling through due ti injury and illness (he agreed to fight chimaev twice until the later got covid).
Aspinalls a ****ing beast isn't he. Fight Blaydes again, then fight the winner of Jones/Stipe. He cuts through fighters who are known as tough fighters like a knife through butter. If he has to fight Gane on the way too I think he wins that easily too. Considering his injury that's a fantastic comeback.
he’s the most talented mma fighter we’ve ever produced imo. And the fact he’s a HW is even more impressive. His last 2 wins have been almost perfect performances. So unlucky with his injuries but he can literally do everything well, some things exceptionally well. His footwork, movement and hands are unmatched in the HW division. He moves like a MW, it’s almost unnatural. On top of that hes got great jitz and very decent wrestling. But with his boxing he doesn’t need good grappling to take the fight to the mat. As long as he can stay healthy, he will definitely win the strap at some point. Maybe even dominating I saw he called out gane in his post fight interview. Other than keg kicks he does everything better then gane. I think he bests him wherever the fight takes place. People talk about how well gane moves for a HW, Tom is far more fluid
6 in a row for Tony now. He hasn't won for 4 years. Irresponsible to let him keep fighting imo. His body is completely done and he's just risking his long term well being at this point. Gaethje KO was nasty. That BMF belt is embarrassing though.
Main card starts at 7pm today for anyone who's interested. Some great match ups to look forward to. Reckon Volk was a bit unlucky in the first fight, think he takes it today. Usman probably not the beast he was a couple of years ago but still Khamat's toughest test so far. Can't call that one.
I probably still favour Islam but not with too much confidence I assume khamzats fight is over 3 rounds. I’m a bit disappointed he’s not fighting a proper mw, considering that is his natural weight! I think he’ll beat usman over 3 rounds. Not so confident if it was 5 rounds Ankalaev vs Walker should be fun. I expect ankalaev to win but Walker is unpredictable
Big Tom has a shot at the interim HW title tonight. I think he’s easily the most skilled fighter in the division but pavlovichs power is a concern. I think aspinal can beat him on the feet or sub him but even though he’s got good boxing, I don’t like the way he fights with his chin in the air. Still don’t know how sturdy his whiskers are either as he’s pretty much run through everyone so far this is a genuine 50/50 with the 2 most dangerous finishers in the division. I’ll be gutted if he gets ko’d
Yeah, exciting fight. I've got Tom just about. Defintly his biggest test though. Pavlovich has been going through everyone over the last couple of years. Jiri vs. Pereira is a good match up too. Should be a good one.
2 great fights, I’m staying up due this one! Neither of these fights are going anywhere near the distance and tbh I have no idea who wins either. Both seem genuine 50/50s on paper
Knocked him out in a minute. This fella is gonna be the top dog at HW for years to come. I think he runs through jones, if the fight happens
he was never that good. He’s made a career of beating past their prime fighters, and has ducked at least half a dozen fighters to sit on the shelf waiting out a 3 undeserved title shot. Hes literally talked himself i to contention these last few years. He’s a scumbag as are most of his fans. If shavkat doesn’t get the next title shot they should match him with Colby. He submit or knock him out and hopefully that’ll be the last we see of him
He still didn’t fight like he has in the past. Colby’s strength has always been his pace and cardio. Pushing fighters back and smothering them. Last night he was more than happy to just sit back until the last round. Maybe it was just a little ring rust.
He fought a guy with great ring control and defensive wrestling, with surgical striking. Leons also got great cardio, colby just wasn’t able to implement his game. This was always the likely result as Colby is usman lite! He’s similar in so many ways, but not quite as good other than his cardio. Last nights fight looked very similar to tie 3rd usman fight lay-off probably didn’t help but that was self imposed so that’s in him
