The wife was determined to watch it ,so I tried to not glaze over with the sufferance of the first episode ,but Michelle Keegan is just so f*cking bland ,everything she's in it's a carbon copy of her character in Corrie and Brassic with the exception they've handed the dullard a gun in this one. I get she's a looker and she's a popular actress and I'm certainly glad she's got that going for her ,but there's nothing that suggests acting talent in between. Adeel Akhtar is an extremely talented actor and has had some roles that have given rise to his phenomenal talent ,not least Sherwood and the quite brilliant Utopia that brought him to prominence but this is the worse role I've ever seen him play. I don't know how many episodes this was ,but f*ck me it seemed to drag on for an eternity.
my thoughts exactly on keegan, this show and Adeel akhtar really is great actor (he’s also pretty good in 4 lions). I left my missus to it after the first episode. She loved it though
It's the next thing on my list. I've watched the first 10 minutes and it looks like an absolute insane story. Looking forward to it.
Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators It felt like a sanitised version of the events. Except for Nitro & Bob the director, everyone wasn't admitting to the crazy things they did. It was weird cause most of them did imply that dodgy things did happen, before adding they personally didn't do it. Telling some of the incidents through animation was a good choice. Still it was a nice peek into how the show was created and how it grew & eventually died. Just five episodes long so the documentary series doesn't feel like a long watch.
I've started watching Griselda, only 2 episodes in but really enjoying it. "Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatization shows Griselda Blanco's journey from Medellín to becoming "the Godmother" of Miami's drug empire." Holy sh*t balls. It was a rollercoaster, it went from absurdity to disbelief to feeling sick at the end.
Angela Black. A woman in an abusive marriage with a right cocky git is approached by a stranger who tells her something about her husband that will change her life forever. Absolutely brilliant. 6 episodes.
Sounds like it might be worth a watch. I was checking that this was available yesterday but Netflix wouldn't let me see anything until I'd completed the details of the additional user I'd apparently requested. A quick check with the bank shows they've charged me £14.99 this month instead of £10.99, so I phoned them and they claim 'someone' has answered 'yes' when prompted about setting up a new user. Anyway, the new user has now been removed, but it shows you need to keep an eye on these charlatans!
Thanks for this - added to the list Randomly apparently I never watched FUBAR which has been on my watchlist forever so that's going to the top of my list starting this evening
This was a really good watch. It’s astonishing that the show ever made it so big based on how amateurish it was to begin with, and how dangerous some of the early games were. It’s pure luck that no one got seriously hurt. The arena floor was concrete ffs.
Yep. The things they got away with it. Career ending injuries, but fortunately no deaths. I still, however, think we didn't see everything, as the folks weren't keen on sharing. But I hope someone makes a tell all movie on Nitro or even the director Bob.
Keep Sweet: Pray & Obey Fascinating look at the FLDS cult & the rise & fall of Warren Jeffs. Uncomfortable to watch at times with the subject matter around minors. You have to appreciate the women & few reporters & authorities who took him down, eventhough the Cult continues to function. Just four episodes long.
I watched this a while ago and yeah it's quite shocking and scary that we're not talking about the 60s or 70s but a lot more recently. Spoiler Really think they went too far with the audio of him having sex with a young girl. I was shocked they put that in, even though it was only a few seconds. They could have just said what he'd done and I'd have been disgusted there was no need for that
One Day After spending graduation night together, Emma and Dexter go their separate ways — but their lives remain intertwined. I saw the original film in 2011, but watching this with two episodes to go. I can’t remember the ending fully, so will finish tonight. Enjoyed watching.
I've read all of Nicholls' work so I'm expecting to laugh and cry in equal measures.....alright, I'll probably cry a bit more..
