Be interesting to see your reaction. I enjoyed it, but no tears from me (unusually ). Maybe, because I’ve seen the film, I kinda knew the ending.
Haven't seen the film but the book is much funnier and sadder in equal measures. Just finished the last episode, the girl who played Emma was a joy to watch..
Probably at least one episode too long. You lost all empathy for Dexter, even in the closing scenes, which is a great shame because it started off so well. The soundtrack is well worth a mention, playing snippets of some classics from the relevant year of each episode, I was shocked, surprised and made up they chose a lesser known track by Elbow.. 6.999/10
Just watched the third series of Sunderland Til I Die. Despite winning promotion they somehow managed to make it even more depressing than the first two. Quite the achievement.
I've watched 4 episodes thus far. As much as I like Joanne Frogatt, and have done since she played 'Sigourney' in Dinnerladies she does seem somewhat typecast these days in these 'battered woman' type of roles. I had an inkling what was really going on during episode 2, and still think I know, but of course I'll find out for sure after the last 2 episodes. EDIT# Seen all of it now. The denouement was a tad silly, especially the very last 10 minutes, but it was okay overall. 7.1019/10
The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth. Just finished watching this. One of the most high profile & crazy cases that happened here. I knew fair bit of story beforehand, but there were some new revelations. A good addition to Netflix's true crime documentaries. Just four episodes of 40 or so minutes each.
binging the gentlemen right now. Well worth a go. anyone who likes a lock, stock or snatch this is a classic romp. very funny, very silly.
its bascially like they got comissioned by Netflix to "do lock stock with a bit of snatch and make it a series" its fun. simple enough, well cast (bascially a lot of faces you'd know from this genre), well enough written and well enoug funded to look good. Not a lot of depth but its all about the style.
The Gentlemen Typically convoluted gangster stuff from Ritchie, 8 episodes and everything coming together in a rather unlikely manner at the end. Violent, daft and sweary.
Couldn't be done with it. The brother Freddie did my head in, the other brother did my head, the cockney girl did my head in, the stoner with the hat did my head in, and when they introduced the gypsies, they all, you know.....
