Nothing, I haven't tried it yet, but I will. Went out with Mrs. End this afternoon and finished up spending £957 on three chests of drawers for the f***ing bedroom instead of looking at cars . . .
Har!!! Mine does that too. How is it they say "lets go out and look at (for arguments sake say,) a new dishwasher, and then they end up looking at everything BUT dishwashers I'm doing a Vectra 1.9cdti for a lass in Sheffield on Thursday - 150 to 184bhp/320Nm to 380Nm Its a good engine, Stret, mapped or not. Good solid bottom end and Bosch 4th generation common rail. Saab use the same engine in their 1.9Tid
How much does it cost to get it 'tweaked', and are there any obvious modifications under the bonnet that nosey insurance assessors might notice?
A "map" is a computer program uploaded through the OBD port that replaces the OEM original map in the ECU (electronic control unit). It has to be exactly the same size as the original (eg 1024bytes or 2048bytes etc), and it will contain instructions to increase turbocharger boost pressure, fuel rail pressure, induction timing sequences and so on. Typical cost is about £250 -£300, depending on make and model. A proper remap has to be written from the ORIGINAL map in your car, so beware of anyone who tells you they have the map you need on a CD-ROM!! PM me if you want any info or impartial advice. Mapping isn't always the best option but its more popular than "add ons" these days. Depends what you want from your vehicle and how many miles you do. Ive been working with engines for nearly 20 years now, car and truck, mainly diesels, and most of that experience with the manufacturers. TBH Stret, if you only do 6000 miles a year, you are probably better keeping the car as it is unless you crave that kick in the pants the extra performance gives you.
Could well be an error and should be 34,000 miles. That shape of Golf looks a bag of sh*t anyway. I don't like it at all. The newest shape isn't a bad looker though.
I didn't say it was low on mileage But yeah tbh the Astra looks a good buy and I like the look of the VXR Corsa's.
I think it was fairly obvious we were talking about new, or as new cars, not ones that have been run into the ground mate
Cracking Audi for sale, but I'm stuck in Scotland and can't get it!. Wonder if it will be there still in 6 weeks.
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...el-type/diesel/page/2/sort/priceasc&logcode=p Using Speakers postcode muhahahahaha. 57,000 is f*ck all on a diesel anywho, aslong as it has been well looked after.
I disagree, 57,000 is a lot on a 2 1/2 year old car. As I said elsewhere diesel engines are no longer unsophisticated lumps that run for 200,000 miles without maintenance, they are as complex as petrol engines and require as much care since they have overhead cams and drivebelts and electronic engine management. On top of that the suspension, brake discs, clutch, drive shafts, bearings, battery, exhaust etc. etc. have also got 57,000 miles on their respective clocks . . .
On the upside though, most of those miles would be motorway miles.... Also brake pads and disks, batteries, exhaust etc are all easily replaceable.
