I think if you are backpacking and staying in places where you'd rather take your backpack with you than leave it unattended all day, that makes sense. If not though, I'd rather have a lot more clothing rather than waste time getting laundry done every day or two. I remember a couple of guys from work who'd go away for a couple of weeks with bags that looked just about big enough for a laptop. They'd have one change of clothing, and do their washing in the bath each night. One really wasn't a social guy though, and I can imagine he enjoyed the washing as it gave him something to do in the evening.
Panja, give me some background. First time I've seen your face, and going from your other posts I'd have guessed a 22 year old Asian chap
53 year old Caucasian male from the back streets of Birmingham, very handsome with dashing good looks and a cracking sense of humour. Oh, and a bullshitter..
Sorry, you misunderstood me, I don't do the laundry, I just drop it off and go back the next day when it's washed and ironed. It's about 55p a kilo, less if you don't want it ironed. job's a good 'un..
went to Nakhon Pathon last weekend. It's a small province just north of Bangkok and is famous for Phra Pathom Chedi, the first religious landmark that signified the influx of Buddhism into Thailand, or so Tourism Thailand will have us believe. All I know is it's bloody impressive close up.
Nou Camp - Barcelona vs Real Zaragoza Budapest New York, from the Rockerfeller (cheaper than the Empire State, shorter queues, and you get the Empire in your shot of the skyline!) Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Salt Lake City Mormon Temple
I must have stood exactly where you did at the Rockerfeller as I have a picture very similar! I loved it up there. I done both, but the Empire State is much more hassle and security much tighter. No room to move when you are up there either. The Rockerfeller was superb.
I took my dad to Krakow for his birthday four years ago. He's a bit of a war historian and has wanted to go to Auschwitz for as long as I can remember. Any, we went in 2010. I'd been before but it was still heart wrenching seeing the camps again.
I have been lucky, but there again I lived in inner city Birmingham for 20 years so it's evening itself out now..
I have similar pictures from Krakow / Auschwitz. I actually remember the city itself being beautiful, and although we went to a Nazi concentration camp, I don't think it overshadowed the trip or the city.
