Benfica is a mess right now

Rui Vitoria wanted to quit, the president rejected
The president want JJ now, JJ only accepts coming as early as January, due to taxes

Today Benfica lost a fan. Last night Rui Vitoria was sacked, late call but still a good call. Today a I wake up and I see that Benfica's president decided to go back on his word against the fans and his colleagues on the board. 3 of them are threating to quit Benfica, one of them is the money man, the important figure is Rui Costa. It's a sad day when a club's president goes full Estaline on the fans.

Been watching Portuguese Football on Freesports Channel 442 on Sky generally on a Sunday night but Braga v Maritmo on tonight.

The big 3 seem to have the refs on their side.

Best game I've witnessed so far was
    Sporting 5 v 2 Nacional.

Next player from Portugal to play in Premier League, Benfica's number 83 , Gedson I think he's called.

Yeah, Sporting under the dutch manager Keizer has been pulling on some great games. They lost 1-0 to Vitória SC but tactically was a very good game.

Gedson Fernandes is very special, he was developed has a winger but in the B team and U19 he started playing in the middle has a box to box number 8, he combines his physical qualities with his technical qualities, he's a very complete midfielder. Better than Renato in my opinion.

    Who's your team ?

    I work with 4 Portuguese people, 2 Benfica , 1 Sporting & 1 Porto fan.

My team P.U.F.C.sold our Portuguese player Leo Da Silva Lopes to Wigan Athletic in the Summer for £1 Million, he's represented your country at Under 19 & 20 level, he was signed after being spotted playing 5 a side at 14 years old but was played out of his natural number 10 position & confidence wise went backwards yet remained someone with potential.

Always good to hear people taking an interest in the league.

You’re right that game was great, we can’t stop scoring since Keizer took over (apart from against Guinmares) and it’s nice to see us playing attacking football as we should be with the players we have at our disposal!

Bang on about Gedson, he’s awesome

Well another lost, 2-0 to Portimonense and we could be seeing Porto going 7 points ahead. The lack of guts to sack Rui Vitoria is something worthy to be studied

They have Jackson Martinez & Nakajima ( think he's called ) & play attacking football.

Sporting have good chance to climb up with 6.00 kick off, Porto even better away at Aves at 8.15 hopefully Live on Sky Channel 422, Braga v Maritimo wasn't on last night.

Looks like Porto's to lose now, the most uninspiring team to watch in the top 4 yet solid in defence is always going to reap it's rewards.

We play them at home in 2 games time, if we win the gap is down to two points and we have a chance. If they win the title is theirs

Porto is winning this one. Benfica and Sporting did terrible decisions in the start of the season and Braga is no match

Porto are by far the more balanced team of the big 3 with both of the Lisbon teams playing a more attack minded style of football , should be between Sporting & Benfica for 2nd place but you never know, still a long way to go, lots of twists & turns.

Bruno Lage will stay until June. The options in the summer are Jorge Jesus and................ Mourinho (oh god.... please no).

    It’ll be Jesus
Yeah I think that’s a fair analysis. At the start of the campaign we were mired with trouble, so to be challenging for second has to be considered a good season
