It was the difference in size, really, as Wrexham's goals came from balls into the box and they were just bigger
Bizarre team in a half empty stadium. HT Almost total domination by United, took the lead with a superb Dalot shot into the top corner, but then somehow conceded 2 goals in the 43rd minute, one a flukey misplaced pass and the second handed to them on a plate by Lindelof's gormless attempt to play out from the back. Forson was hooked after 35 minutes as he was in danger of seeing a red card. United 1 Dortmund 2 FT More United domination, smartly taken equaliser by Antony but another defensive balls up, this time from Wan-Bissaka handed Dortmund the winner. Glorious chances wasted in the 2nd half by Rashford, Antony, Wan-Bissaka and Hugill meaning another defeat. United 2 Dortmund 3 50,857 attendance (looked less than that)
pre season has done nothing to put ease my worries about Mount i genuinely cant believe Ten Hag wanted him as our number 8... and paying that much just makes it worse. hopefully when the real games start he somehow improves
I was watching Leverkusen v West Ham then I flicked over to United v Lens on MUTV just in time to witness David May say "that's where you want your keeper" after Onana left his area to head the ball ,then just three mins later he's lobbed from the half way line
Still wonder how United are going to play this more aggressive front foot possession based game you'd expect under Ten Hag as they haven't really signed anybody in pre-season that strengthens them defensively imo. Now you have the added impact that every team knows one brainfart near the half way line and the new keeper will be about 30 yards out his box.
I didn't see the first half but I've seen the Lens goal. Lots of pace in United now but the defence still looks suspect, we'll see how it look after a few League games. Disappointing crowd and zero atmosphere apart from the French fans.
