Just thought I'd start this years thread. We've still got an eye-watering 22 players left under contract for next season, must shift 7-10 of those if we want to progress
I make it 23, could potentially be 27 if those offered terms do accept. Ours won’t be out for a couple of weeks.
David Stockdale being released from player/head of recruitment is the biggest plus, Giving long term contracts to a lot of terrible players of which we will not shift. Alex Hunt needs to be top of signings.him and Armstrong saved us and actually provided service to Dipo.
We have 7 contracted but will be looking to get rid of 3 at least Rohan Ince Matt Robinson Alfie Pavey
Teams will find it very expensive paying off players to leave as other clubs will know that and use it to their advantage, only have to look at us last summer some we luckily got rid of but a few had to stay. Omar Mussa is out of contract if anyone wants him, unbelievable player but a lazy idiot who has wasted his career. We will only be left with 9 still on contract for this summer, probably offer another 3-4 deals max but doubt any of them will stay so another huge turnover for us this summer, until the takeover is confirmed and a budget set it’s all still up in the air.
Can't see York doing much better with all that dross still there As for ours Phillips has said it's more or less decided so I'd expect it out fairly soon
Not a chance our lot on that list will still be here in July, Uggla has already got rid of Stockdale and Darren Kelly today alone, he would rather pay off the deadwood and let Hinshel build a team, I'm excited to see what Hinshelwood does as he absolutely transformed this sorry lot into a decentish team
Sounds like us every season that. My concern is Milly is actually happy with what the attacking players have produced this season and offers them all new deals. You won't find many town fans disappointed if 90% of the attacking players left. Problem is no one else in this league would touch them with a barge pole. So they'd all be delighted to get offered new deals I'd imagine.
I just can't see you lot progressing with Uggla there, it's also easier said than done paying off the players. We will see I guess.
