I would say that Mourinho has answered any mid season criticism i had of him at Inter, Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia all looking likely to be in the bank. But like you said the major improvement from Mourinho as a coach this season has been in the transfer market, practically all his signings have been good, im still not the biggest fan of Motta but he hasnt done too badly and if they decide to sell him Mariga looks more than a good enough replacement as he is still young and will improve. Lucio, Sneidjer and Millito, 3 of the signings of the season without doubt.
true , zanetti has once again been quality....... shame on dunga for no picking ronnie and pato as they both where quality against juve yesterday....
Sampdoria are Champions League:Banana::Banana: Cant believe it after last season when they finished 13th, superb job by Gigi Del Neri, why the hell go to the Turin s***e, you can play in the Champions League next season. Superb season for Samp and Pazzini's goal today is surely a good nudge to Lippi, take him to the World Cup. And the qualification is made even more sweeter when you consider that 3 ex Sampdoria players play for todays opponents Napoli, Cristian Maggio, Hugo Campagnaro and Fabio Quagriella, who all left for more money.
Well Siena were never really going to do it where they. Roma can be very proud of themselves anyway, a good season and they prevented Inter running away with it, which was much more then the increasingly pathetic Milan and Juventus could manage. Well done to Sampdoria i'm looking foward to seeing Cassano in the Champions League! I feel for Palermo though as they had a very good season as well.
Here is my team of the season, I had written a little bit why for each player but the internet messed up and i can't be bothered to type it out again! GK- Julio Sergio RB- Maicon CB- Walter Samuel CB- Simon Kajer LB- Javier Zanetti CM- Angelo Palombo CM- David Pizzaro CM- Wesley Sneijder FW- Antonio Di Natale ST- Diego Millito FW- Fabrizio Miccoli Subs Salvatore Sirigu (Palermo) Leonardo Bonnuchi (Bari) Alessandro Nesta Esteban Cambiasso Daniele De Rossi Ronaldinho Giampaolo Pazzini
I agree with all of it but 1 Swap Cambiasso for Pizarro and that is my team of the year too, maybe there is a case for Lucio on the bench as well, but apart from that, i would say pretty accurate choice.
Pizzaro's a very underated player I think, great passer and good with set peices. I'd take him over Pirlo right now
Id have Pizarro on the bench, he has had a good season, no doubt, but i really like Cambiasso as a player, he is one of my favorite players.
Well thats it then, Inter champs again with Roma and Milan guranteed Champs league place with Sampdoria getting the final champs league place although they will need to win the qualifying round. Inter are far superior to anyone else and it was only right that they won the league. I can see them winning on Saturday and completing the treble. Atalanta 1-2 Palermo Bari 2-0 Fiorentina Cagliari 1-1 Bologna Catania 1-0 Genoa Chievo 0-2 Roma Lazio 3-1 Udinese Milan 3-0 Juventus Parma 4-1 Livorno Sampdoria 1-0 Napoli Siena 0-1 Inter Inter 82 Roma (CL) 80 Milan (CL) 70 Sampdoria (CL) 67 Palermo (EL) 65 Napoli (EL) 59 Juventus (EL) 55 Parma 52 Genoa 51 Bari 50 Fiorentina 47 Lazio 46 Catania 45 Cagliari 44 Udinese 44 Chievo 44 Bologna 42 Atalanta (r) 35 Siena (r) 31 Livorno (r) 29 Di Natale Udinese 29 (6 pens) Milito Inter 22 (4) Pazzini Sampdoria 19 (3) Miccoli Palermo 19 (6) Gilardino Fiorentina 15 (1) Borriello Milan 14 (1) Vucinic Roma 14 (2) Barreto Bari 14 (4) Totti Roma 14 (5) Cavani Palermo 13 (2) Matri Cagliari 13 (3) Pato Milan 12 Maccarone Siena 12 (1) Di Vaio Bologna 12 (2) Eto'o Inter 12 (2) Floccari Genoa/Lazio 12 (2) Hamsik Napoli 12 (2) Ronaldinho Milan 12 (5) Pellissier Chievo 11 Quagliarella Napoli 11
Congrats to Inter and good luck in the final on Saturday After seeing the last half hour of the Milan game, I hope those emotional hugs & high fives from Ronaldinho don't mean he's leaving Milan...or worse, Europe
Well Inter wins it so narrowly 1-0 in the end, just not convincing? But they tend to do that a lot :P Credit for Roma for pushing them all the way and winning their last game too! Inter were always going to win it with their squad. They are favourites for the treble now, what an ncredible achievement it would be. But I still think winning the Seria A isnt all that these days, the others have been so poor. Juve wont be in Europe next season, unimaginable......and Milan still needs so much rebuilding.... Wonder how Sampdoria will do in the CL, Palermo and Napoli in Europa...should be interesting...
The snake idea on Inter's new away shirt is a bit.. different. http://www.goalymoly.com/football-news/new-inter-milan-snake-shirt-bit-mental44625
Were they trying to design an F1 car livery ? If so it is good, but a football shirt ? Inter certainly don't play in the MLS.
I like it, kits are so boring these days everyone wears the same one more or less just with different colours
Very pleased with the season my Italian team, Palermo had. Obviously a bit disappointed not to have finished 4th, but i would've took 5th at the beginning of the season. Some great results during the season, Fabrizio Miccoli has been class again all season
Looks like Adriano is set for Roma. A big gamble in my opinion, would love to see him return to his best but i just can't see it somehow. Lots of rumors that Juve are going to sell Diego as well, again i think that woud be a big mistake, you can't invest £20 million on a player plan to build a team round him and then sell him after one poor season in which the whole team plays crap.
Exactly this, would be a huge waste of 20 Million plus quid. Diego needs a better bunch of strikers around him to feed and a better midfield around him. If they sell Diego he is merely being used as a scapegoat finding someone to blame for Juves poor season when it has been everyone's fault. Just watch some good club will pick Diego up and Juve will end up regreting it come next season's end.
