    theres a reason why:

    a) trump and the right ride of the republican party hated on the EU and started a tariff war
    b) why Russia started this whole thing in 2014 over pro west (aka pro eu) Ukrainian governments.

the big powers don't want a strong Europe. Brexit helped them. think on that. cos it sure hasn't helped the UK. who has really benefitted from it?

I'm not saying you said this at all but the Norway arrangement, is that the same kind of arrangement Scotland was told wasn't possible in the indyref? Basically EU lite

Well getting independence is a bit different and afaik hasn’t happened before in the EU. Greenland actually left the EU before we did which means part of Denmark left the EU but never got independence so it’s a little different, so there’s no real precedent for it.

So I don’t think anyone knows whether that is possible for a new country as opposed to the renegotiation of a deal which already has a set date for renegotiation and probably has in secret already the assumption that the ultimate goal is for the UK to become another Norway style country to the EU. My point was more that like how several behind the scenes people of the GFA have come out in the years since and said the secret goal of the GFA was always for a long-term movement towards a United Ireland, I’d be surprised having seen the cases of Norway and Switzerland if the secret goal of the Brexit negotiations isn’t ultimately the same thing for the UK.

I’m not really sure what the case is with Scotland if they get independence, as Scotland overwhelmingly wants to rejoin the EU proper, which as they’ve lost their permenant vetos on Schengen and the Euro after Brexit, would mean a hard border between Scotland and the rest of the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Mann, as EU joiners have to plan to join Schengen these days.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you prominent Brexiteer, Daniel Hannan:

I should also add Mr Brexit himself, David Frost, has retweeted the article Hannan wrote and declared we are now a poor nation.

And still, despite seeing the mess they have created, none of them have quite managed to take any sort of responsibility.

The Brexit ‘red tape’ illusion has been exposed by the Tories’ CE mark climbdown

I just want to put this here as I can speak to the time and cost this absolute waste of space has put us to.

The UK had the EMA headquartered in London and lost this.

CE marking is critical for med device as well as loads of consumer goods.

my company had to start with all shipping documentation related to products to have ukca after getting products certified (in truth it was a joke how easy it was as they were all ce marked)

then we had to change all the artwork on everything

finally we had to retool to add the logo to parts beside the ce mark.

and all that time and expense is a massive waste of time.

apparently the EU regs are fine after all.

The irony of Brexit and this chat about "world class border facilities" and "taking back control" is that since leaving immigration (both legal and illegal) has risen.

So what exactly are we doing here? We are making ourselves poorer, to build up a border, it is proven we cannot actually control It's ****ing lunacy.

Just take your medicine and bring us back closer to the EU. You don't even need to rejoin, just have a normal friendly relationship with your neighbour.

Why the hell do these people think they deserve "financial security" through a benefit payment (bearing in mind the right are very happy to demonise those needing benefits at the moment) when the rest of us mugs have to suffer through each day wondering how we are going to pay the next bill that comes through the door?

This video just epitomises how things have been since Brexit in that certain people will literally believe anything certain people say or certain newspapers print and will continue to regurgitate the bullshit even when their own livelihood is disappearing right before their eyes. It's truly bizarre how deep some people will bury their heads instead of fronting up and admitting they got something wrong

I'm really enjoying Brexit, and all our food prices skyrocketing, as it has at least rekindled my love for petty theft.

    THANK YOU BORIS!
