Parole BBC I Player Brilliant watch which offers us a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at a parole hearing ,I'd advocate for anyone finishing their full sentence if they've committed a murder ,but some of these prisoners have served over 20 years and are never getting out !
Second season of Wrexham started last night. This one should be a cracker as we all know it ends well for Rob and Ryan..
If anyone likes spring watch, Chris Packham is doing a new show. I don't think it is on TV, but it is free on the YouTube channel below. Just watching it now, its good so far. 8 Out Of 10 Bats - YouTube
Planet Earth 3 started on Sunday. Doesn’t seem to be as much excitement as when Planet Earth 2 came on but it’s always incredible to see Attenborough still doing what he loves
The Great Storm of 87. A good watch about the storm that blew hundreds of trees down in my area but somehow i slept through it even though i wasn't pissed. I didn't know what happened until i got to work in the morning after and spoke to my mates.
Loving it. The desert episode when the camera slowly turns around to unveil in the distance a huge dust storm one mile in height is incredible.
The Yorkshire Ripper Files: A Very British Crime [BBC2, iPlayer) Three part documentary detailing the often farcical incompetence of the Police as they investigated Peter Sutcliffe's 13 murders and 8 attempted murders during 75 - 80. Police prejudice that led them to believe all his victims were prostitutes, he was from Sunderland and that he'd sent them a letter and a tape recording meant that despite being interviewed nine times they only eventually caught him by complete accident. In 1977 Police in Manchester found a brand new £5 note in the purse of 20-year-old Jean Bernadette Jordan, a prostitute murdered in Moss Side, they traced it through the issuing bank to a haulage firm in Yorkshire. Police interviewed the employees of the haulage firm along with 3,000 other men, but then in 1978 they abandoned the £5 line of enquiry, Sutcliffe was an employee of the firm and then went on to attack another 13 women. Police had two 'photofit' images from two of the girls who survived being attacked, the images looked very similar but Police dismissed the pictures because they didn't fit the profile they'd decided was Sutcliffe. In 1981 Sutcliffe was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in jail, and in 2010 this was commuted to a whole life term. He died in custody in 2020 aged 74, and hopefully is rotting in Hell.
Caroline Aherne: Queen of Comedy [BBC] Genuinely moving documentary about the far too short life of Caroline Aherne, who died of cancer in 2016 aged 52. Brilliant as Mrs Merton, excellent in The Fast Show and writer/director of The Royle Family, she was an actual genius (with an IQ of 176) whose work will continue to amuse and entertain for years. Sadly missed.
Andes Plane Crash Channel 5. Interviews with the actual survivors, absolutely fascinating story. Really is one of the most remarkable events ever heard of.
The Hampstead paedophile hoax. C4 documentary. Absolutely terrifying that two nut jobs could brainwash two young kids into creating a sick hoax that affected so many people and convinced conspiracy idiots that everybody at a primary school was killing and eating babies. The authorities were useless in this IMO. Just awful. Crazy crazy stuff.
Never seen this, d/loading it now, but whether I'll ever get round to watching it all remains to be seen.
If you have PBS america it's on catch up , amazing footage and stories. I love how chaotic America was 63 to 75, crazy presidents, daft wars, protests at home, black panthers. CNN and Tom Hanks did a few series called sixties, seventies and eighties, all good as well. My mates call me mental as I always say Vietnam is my favorite war haha
