scouse eddy spouts so much crap I even found myself doubting his post in the Hillsbrough thread. Which is a shame.

Anyway, tough ask without Torres, but if you can grab a score draw in this leg, I think you will be in the final.

Oh well, 1-0 defeat not the end of the world, but would have been better if the legitimate goal of Yossi's was allowed, he was well onside. Thought we looked sluggish throughout, I guess the travelling took its toll.

Although a few decisions went against both sides, I have to say it was refreshing seeing a referee not buying any play acting and blowing at every opportunity.

The Greek screwed up on the first goal:no:, then we find are selves with another dodge lineman, dis-allowing a goal that was on side!
Although i will say, good on the Ref for not falling for the diving by some of Atletico players.

As for the second half, if wasn't for Reina.... we would up shit street without a paddle, we was awful, Babel is shit, Kuyt first was shit as well.

Anyway 1-0, isn't a bad result for a very poor game, we should kill them at home.

Was refreshing to see a referee let a game flow (if you can call that flowing) rather than blowing for everything. Pity about a totally legit goal being chalked off unfairly.

Annoying game to watch, we just seemed flat, perhaps the travelling took the edge off us. No one really stood out, although Lucas sprayed a few decent balls around. Babel once again infuriating me, why does he make everything so hard for himself, constantly runs up blind alleyways, etc...the modern day Ronnie Rosenthal, Rafa get rid in the summer please.

But still got the one crucial decision wrong.

We were crap tonight though, and they weren't any better. The difference is they've got Aguero back for the 2nd leg and we haven't got Torres. If Torres played tonight, we'd have scored. Without Torres at Anfield, I can't see us scoring the 3 or 4 goals we'll need, once they get the inevitable away goal.

pretty sterile performance, I dont think we troubled there keeper once in the whole 90 mins. Gerrard is completely isolated and wasted playing in an advanced role without a decent striker infront of him and a decent central midfielder controlling the game behind him. Gerrard should be running the midfield
playing mascha and lucas together to me is just a big waste of everyone's time(supporters included). why wont Rafa play Aquilani ??

We went for a 0-0, gifted them a soft goal, had a goal wrongly disallowed, didn't get a shot on target the whole second half. Thats about it really, disapointed with our tactics and players performance.
Hope we can lift our game for the return.

    1-0.

Can you turn it around at Anfield. Yes.

Nothing to fear now, and after last nights results, I am expecting an all English final.

He is fit, but from what I'm hearing, hes still having problems... yet the medic staff, after x-rays etc.... can't find a problem? Yet Aquilani says hes not fit!

PS: Theres new medical staff arriving in the summer, so hopefully they will sort it out? if there a problem!

One eye on the world cup?

Since when did players dictate when they are fit or not?
