Dahoud off then. Bit of a shame as I hadn't completely ruled him out myself. He didn't quite look like the right physical fit for the league, but that's something that can be worked on with effort and dedication. That said, there's clearly been an issue behind the scenes as he's been noticeably absent from many of our recent match squads, despite several u21s often making the bench Seeing as we signed him for free, if we do manage to move him on in the summer for any fee above the 6 months of wages we've paid him it probably still counts as good business (technically)
My sources tell me we may not be done in the market yet. Wharton expected to be announced tomorrow but we're trying to add another. Presumably a forward. Just hope Johnstone doesn't go unless we have a competent #2 lined up.
We've signed Noah Lemina on loan with an option for €2M. Had a loan with an option for €15M rejected by Corinthians for a striker called Yuri Alberto. O'Neil has said that we're in for 2 forward players (on top of Mini Lemina) so assuming Alberto is one of them that leaves us with only 1 deal to **** up before 11pm tomorrow. The last one must be the Turkish guy from Getafe - we're in for him too, as a replacement for Keiffer Moore who would then be off to Ipswich.
Just to follow up on this, we had a deal agreed with West Ham for Ings in the first week of the window but he turned us down to try and fight for his place. We're still trying to get N'Diaye from Marseille and have looked into taking Cornet from West Ham. Also may try and loan a LB. Could be a busy day by the sounds of it. If we can get a forward and keep Johnstone I'd be happy.
Thats Reyna in on loan until the end of the season confirmed (no option to buy), and now Ribiero from Sporting on loan (option to buy). An attacking mid and striker which we did need. Mangala is confirmed to Lyon for an apparent 10m loan fee + 20m guaranteed in the summer, possible 33m package. That's good business from us. We have bid 7m for Strasbourg and Belgium goalie Matz Sels. Sounds like Palace will want to keep Johnstone.
TBH I'm surprised you were prepared to let him go given your lack of strikers. Clearly not that popular with the fans then? Thought he worked his bollocks off in that Sheff Utd game and was unlucky not to score. Think he'll come good if he's given a run of games, injuries permitting.
we seem to be better off without playing a striker at the moment. ings has given us nothing unfortunately yeah cornet does need a run of games, he isn’t anas player. If he doesn’t go anywhere he probably will get chances with us with benrahma leaving
We also have Mubama waiting in the wings, not that I think Moyes would give him many chances even if Ings left.
Well that is interesting. The fact he rejected it presumably means we accepted the offer. I can understand why as it would be great for him to get more game time while he continues recovering, but both him and dahoud going on loan would leave us short in midfield Could be a sign that someone is coming in today
Ings can f*ck off that’s what his fourth time turning us down? https://x.com/samimokbel81_dm/status/1753012318961545365?s=46&t=5VDzL8icxafWNI4j0Zbeog Roy can f*ck off aswell. A player for relatively cheap that can cover any position on the left seems a no brainer for me.
There’s no way he’s been signed with any intention of playing for you. He’s barely been playing for our B team in the third division. 100% a way of getting him to Olympiakos eventually
How would that make any sense considering our current FFP issues? Sent from my SM-S928B using Tapatalk
Just fed up with some aspects of the club at the moment. Why give a manager that won’t be here in six months a say in who is signed. If we can get in a good player that will cover multiplayer positions for cheap it should be done. Blokes lucky he’s still employed let alone saying no to players that would be good for the squad.
Going by my recent experience I assume the asking price was in the €40M region? Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
